Should I wear a dark wig on my Turkish holiday?

The one thing that spoilt my holiday the last time I went to Turkey was the Turkish men; they completely OBSESSED over my blonde hair! :/ I was thinking this time I go, in August, that I should wear a dark wig to help prevent the constant staring that I got last time :/ What do you think?

I think you should forgo the wig. If something happens to the wig then they will not only stare at your blonde hair but notice how you are trying to hide it. Even though some people living in Turkey are born with natural blond hair and blue eyes, they seem to be the minority. Probably, for these men seeing a woman with blond hair is likely a rarity. I'm not excusing the behavior. Just ignore them or, if they won't take the hint (as in the F* off sign on your forehead), travel with friends who will "rescue" you. That's what I do.

Plus, I think it also depends on the men. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, and I had several men stare or try to flirt with me; even I after I told them I had a boyfriend, who also happens to be Turkish.

Turkish men are just very friendly, and sometimes they seem too friendly or borderline obsessed. Don't let a bad experience ruin your trip or force you to hide what you were born with.

I hope this makes sense. I am writing this on very little sleep.

if what you saying is true then why are you going back????

Did you have something
in your hair, perhaps a large
wad of bubble gum, or maybe
a small bird was trapped in
it. These are possibilities
that should be taken
into consideration before you
take such a step.

OH dear.
don't go to Turkey if you don't like the people.
they're just very friendly and like a pretty girl.
and despite what is rumoured, i find them very loyal. :)

ilke
Maybe you can colour your hair to ginger or brown... I mean there is always possibility that your wig might come off :(

Get a black bag to put on your head. make yourself ugly. :))
die your hair. do what you want.

aprilmacrose
If you're pretty, wearing a wig isn't going to make a difference!

If you're afraid the wig will come off, dye your hair black, at least that way you wont need to worry about it falling off!

Have a good trip

No why bother wearing a dark wig? get one of those brown bags, you know you can get it for free from a grocery store near you.Anyway, put that brown bag on your head (don't forget to make at least 4 holes on it (2 holes on top for your eyes,1 hole in the middle for your nose and the one that at the bottom, this is very important, make it wider it's for your mouth. Please note that you won't be able to eat and/or talk if you don't make it wide enough. warning:The grocery store is not responsible if you don't follow the instructions that given above and the satisfaction is guaranteed or you get 2Lbs broccoli for free.

I haven't seen anyone complaining because people "stare *at her hair*". I don't see Turkish men stopping on the road and watching blond women's "hair", women who also happen to be Turkish.

Hmmm your yahoo profile suggests that men in any part of the world, with some spare time and with a desire for entertainment would be willing to assist you in your choice of wigs. Maybe after this perfect assistance provided to you then, you will not even feel the need to go to Turkey for holiday, who knows.

Qu'est ce que tu pense?
Yeah and wait til they laugh at you once they KNOW it's a wig...

Natalya Antonovna
you're ridiculous hun! and anyway turkish men like all girls (especially foreign one) whatever their hair color

.
Most Turkish people have black hair and dark eyes so if you want to blend in with the crowd then wear a dark wig. If you want the people in Turkey to see something that they dont see everyday then show off your natural blonde hair
