Should Turkey help the Iraqi Turkish (the Turkmen) ? |
80 years ago Erbil was a turkmen city, and now it's the capital of the so-called (kurdistan). after the fall of Saddam's regim, the kurdish began claiming the Kerkuk is a kudish city (which is historicaly a turkmen city rich with oil) the kurdish also control over Kerkuk and they have ambition to annex anther turkmen city (Telafer) to Kurdistan. The turkmen are peaceful people in Iraq except Telafer people who are fiercely fighting the american and the kurdish. Additional Details I said (so- called) kurdistan |

Yes absolutely. Because;
1- Politically; Kurds there and USA supporting them playing dirty tricks. For the safety of their oil fields US can do everything. They can support a country one day and invade the other. We saw that before. Now they are ally with Turkey but i wouldn't be surprised if they support PKK and Kurds to have their own puppets on the location.
2-Historically; these places have always been Turkish. Still the population is mainly Turkmen despite Barzani's all effort to transfer more Kurds to the cities.
In past it has been a very difficult subject. Musul and Kerkuk was in Ataturk's new Turkey map but unfortunately he couldn't succeed.
3- Culturally; we still sing Kerkuk songs. As a detail they have a special style. I can say if it is a Kerkuk song as soon as i hear. They are our brothers.We are connected with them.
I don't know if that will create a second Cyprus or not, but Turkey must help. Cyprus is not our fault remember. Leaving our Turkmen brothers to Kurds will be a treachery to our history. |

Mossoul , Erbil and Kirkouk are turkish cities that we unfortunately lost at the end of WW1, but we will never give up our brothers who need our help... |

If they ask help of Turkey, Turkey should... If not, it would be like us going in and helping them as if we have an interest there like we want something from them. Even if we don't have an interest, or something we want, in the international community we will be perceived like this. I think this is a very sensitive decision that needs to be made by weighing
1) Turkey's interests
2) Turkey's perception in the world community
3) relations with other countries (including ones that does not want us there for their own interests)
4) costs (both money and lives)
5) the sincerity of the Turkmen population |
