i'm a turk living in the u.s. and i have citizenship in both countries. i will be voting for obama because i think neither obama nor mccain will do anything extraordinary for turkey, but i'm voting for obama becaus ei believe he will be better than a right-wing conservative. Obama from what ive heard and seen, also seems to be more intelligent and is more fair than mccain, but that's just my opinion.

Tanju
Hi,

If I US citizen, I vote for Mr Obama ...

Jay
Is this Turk a US citizen?

If not, can't vote.

mete
You are making a political decision based on your Ethnicity? Interesting way to waste a vote. Why do you plan to vote in the name of a Turk but not in the name of an American citizen? any way...Think for your self and make a decision based on that.

I would vote for Obama for Iraq's sake, Republicans have really pissed me off.

I mean does any one still think there is a "war" in Iraq(well the republicans of course but they also think a bearded man in a cave pulled together sept 11),
but I think Obama plans to go into Afghanistan... and fight the "armed" terrorists in the caves (but this is probably a statement for sake of gathering votes)

Orla C
They should vote for whoever they feel is the right man for the job.

DanyBoy
Well OBAMA for he will leave us and are neiborgs alown

Obama's election would be a positive step in eliminating the considerable racism in American society and the inequality in administrative levels. You know, the same racism Turks and Muslims suffer, too?

Obama winks to genocide-pusher Armenians, but almost all politicians do that. We can say mainstream American politics has never been objective in that regard, and taking into consideration that it was American missionaries that exaggerated Armenian losses, overlooked what they did to Muslims, and this way ran an Armenian-supporting campaign to vilify Ottomans and Turks, no wonder that it is so.

Just be pragmatist and vote for the best among worst. Not participating isn't a good option. Your vote is your only tool in this system that we wrongfully name democracy.

Logically, the answer would be Obama of course... But taken into account his speeches that have highlighted the so called Armenian "genocide" and the very wrongful choice of his VP, I can honestly say that McCain would be a wiser choice for Turkish benefit.

When looked into the past and how previous US administrations have dealt with US-Turkish realtions it is obvious that Turkey has faired better during those of Republicans (Clinton and"W" being exclusions).
Since the Democrats usually have been in closer ties with the foes of Turkiye, I say beware!
I only wish that the emerging generations of the US could break free of this never ending cycle ıf thier two parties and come to learn that democracy is supposed to have many voices, not just two for over 200 years! You have around 40 political parties people, go out and learn about them!
Maybe, just maybe then could you be considered a true democracy...

EileenL
I would say neither. Neither of them seem eager to do anything in Turkey's benefit to me.

neither I see a facist country run by both of them. I wouldhave voted for Ron Paul if I was older.

Ender
There is not going to much of a change in foreign policy with either candidate but in the interests of a stronger US-Turkey relations, McCain would be better because of what Obama said in regards to the Armenian genocide claims. Obama has a potential to antagonize Turkey in that regard. Someone mentioned Ron Paul and I must agree that he would have been the perfect candidate, not only in Turkey's interest but also the US and the World in general would have be far better off without constant US interference and policing.
