Cyprus began using the Euro as of the 1st of Jan 2008
I went to Greece recently and found the best exchange rate was from my bank at home, I used local cash machines and drew out Euros on my debit card |

In Larnaca, there are places where you can change money (like money exchange kiosks) I have always found these the best places to change money.
Don't change your money at hotels, you normally pay a premium for this. |

If I were you I would get it from here. Get in outta the way and all'a that. And anyway the rate would be better over here especially if you were going to the Greek side.

Oredr a small amount from www.travelex.co.uk online and then change the rest when you get here......you weill get a better rate of exchange from any of the many kiosks/shops offering currency exchange. however, dont change your money at the hotels or the banks as you will be charged commission.

first answer is out of date, they now use euro's in cyprus ( southern cyprus anyway i think the north use turkish lira )
its usually best to exchange stirling over there as you get a better rate.
buy some from here from either marks and sparks or post offfice but just enough for few days till you can exchange over there. |
