linseybaby
why does your uncle live there.

cherrypinkplum
yes, if that's what you want

Svetla
I think you need to do a lot more research than just ask a very general question; plus pay a visit and see for yourself how you like it first.
Have a look at: www.mybulgaria.info

Gloomyguy
Please do.

I'm Macedonian!!!
why not, it's cheap

Eve
Why not. Depends on what you are looking for. Also, very important is where, as life in the countryside, close to the seaside, in Sofia or another big city can be very different.
A lot depends on whether you are planning to work, what you are planning to do for a living or you have a steady income and are not worried about money.
I have a friend who is married to an Englishman and they live here in BG - he seems happy:)

realdolby
Well it is different but the food is not that cheap apart from eating out which is ok.The wine and ciggies are cheap.Last winter the temps never got lower than 10 degrees but they could be -25 all depends.Their are many English around in the summer in particular in Sunny Beach but it gets hot.i have some apts their and even though I would live their full time it is a good place and laid back lifestyle.

!GUERGANA !
Yes, you definitely should.
Bulgaria is very beautiful, and relaxed.
It is more different than any other country I've been to.
I'm sure you'll love it!
Even at midnight, the streets are still busy with people!
The capital, Sofia, is full of energy!
And the mountains and seaside are gorgeous!

Why not try it, it´s a beautiful country and very cheap. A different and exciting country. It´s quite warm there in the summer. Their winters are not at all as cold as the winters in Scandinavia. I believe their winters are as cold or mild as in other Europe depending on the winter. The Bulgarian people are very nice as you get to know them.
