Should we book for Warsaw or Krakow? Which city is better?

I prefer Krakow over Warsaw. There are lots of things to see in Krakow than in warsaw. I also find people in Krakow more open to tourists. Also, from Krakow, you can easily visit the salt mine, concentration camps, tantra mountains (zakopane) and wadowice (hometown of JPII)

You can fly into either city. There is an international airport in both Warsaw and Krakow. Both have wonderful representations of old Poland, but Warsaw also has everything you would want in a modern city.
However, if you are spending any amount of time in Poland, Krakow is closer to other sites, so it gets my vote.
I've included websites for you to check out to places that are within easy driving distances from Krakow.

I have lots of Polish friends and they all say Krakow is the best city in Poland, even the ones that come from Warsaw...Bon Voyage.

im english and have travelled all over eastern europe but Warsaw is my favourite city its for teens people in their 30s to their 90s it can be very cheap or cheap but never to expensive it has culture night clubs good hotels good transport very modern shopping centers and can put most european citys to shame if you want more info just ask .for a good hotel look at click poland .hotels marriot bristol sheraton mercure

I may be a bit biased, but I think Warsaw is better. I lived there for a year and I thought it was a great city. There's a lot more museums and historical sites(especially WWII sites) and it's also bigger. Krakow is almost always crowded with tourists, and sometimes it's just way too many people at one place, at one time. Warsaw also has a better transportation system(subway, trams, trains, buses) and it's a lot easier to get to Warsaw by plane, than it is to get to Krakow. Another thing to keep in mind, is that, as Krakow is a tourist city, the prices tend to be higher for food, hotels, etc. Hope you have fun in Poland!

Krakow is better, you are also close to several interesting day trips, and the Mountains.

That depends what you want to do!!!
Krakow is very traditional city with loads of relics, and loads of international visitors who come here to enjoy architecture, as well as museums, restaurants and vibrant city life. Krakow is also one of Poland's most visited and admired places.
The only place that i prefer more than Krakow is Gdansk.

Warsaw in contrast is much more modern city usually perceived as the Polish Business Mecca. Therefore you will find here a lot of business people and skyscrapers. However there are a lot of relics too, but they are not as nice as Krakow's. If you are big shopping fan there is in Warsaw Street which is famous for shopping and it is bigger than anywhere in the world even Oxford Street in London.

It depends what you are looking for. Krakow has more historical site to see, yet Warsaw can be more entertaining with vibrant night life.

Book a cheap flight to Katowice with Wizz airlines....Stanstead to Katowice for example...6th october return on 10 october =£42.17... perhaps a night or 2 in katowice................then take a train from katowice to Krakow.
Book your accomodation on "Hostel bookers"...or "Hostel world"....all prices from B&B to Hotels.
Alternatively book a direct flight to Krakow with (Ryan Air i think)

Good luck....

hmmm...
