HD Iskender (Iskender is doner kepab with yogurt) is a good place but sure not the best. In big cities you can find their labeled restaurants. Using Coal fire is important thing for iskender and kepab. |

You should ask your hotel reception or better still to taxi drivers. Ask a few people before deciding on which restaurant to go. Istanbul has hundreds of good kebap restaurants. Adana is famous for 'Adana Kebap', Urfa is famous for 'Urfa Kebap' (long meat balls on flat skewers). Bursa is famous for doner and Iskender kebaps. Antalya has a small mall like place where all the best doner makers are gathered. Samsun and Konya are well known for their 'pide' (flat pita bread with all kinds of meat toppings) |

My suggestion is to not just go for kebabs, try all Turkish food!
Get the people in the restaurants/cafes etc to recommend things, don't go to the touristy restaurants, eat where the locals eat. You won't be disappointed |

Just go to multiple places in the city you will visit. I'd eat at restaurants that have a high number of customers, which shows it is good and that is why they are there! It can be a quest for the best kebab trip! |
