Take cash or travellers cheques to Spain?

I am going to Benidorm, Spain on Saturday and am going to take about £250 and wanted to know weather to take it all in euros (notes) or a bit of both travellers cheques and euros. I thought take it all in euro notes would be better then i dont have the hassle of exchanging the cheques.

Take them in cash. I would wish to know how old are you? if you can't carry £250 in cash, so please don't leave home to Spain.

john m
Why not apply for one of the cards you can charge with cash at the post office, it is a bit safer than taking cash.
I found that on holiday a mix of cash and travellers cheques or bank card gives a bit of flexibility and security.

My wife was in Benidorm recently and pickpockets and bag snatchers were rife

half and half then if you lose cash or it get stolen you have cheques to fall back on

I always take a mixture of cash and travellers cheques. Take about 50 to 100 quid in Euros and the rest in travellers cheques. Its better to be safe than sorry.

The gypsy pick pockets prefer cash. Be especially careful at the weekly market. And always carry your bag in front of you . Take a small amount of euros and the rest in cheques. Have a nice holiday, it's a great place.

Hi
If you are only taking £250.00 i would get it all changed before you go. You will lose out on exchange rates if you change cash in small amounts over the period of your holiday.

Get some in travellers cheques. It's a hassle going and changing them, but if they get lost or stolen, you'll get your money back, whereas with cash, it'll just be gone.

Nemo
Take travellers cheques, at least if they get lost or stolen you're money is safe. I've heard there is a lot of muggings going on in spain so be careful.

I would definately take a little bit of cash with you, but traveler's checks are the way to go. they are a little more safe.
