I tend to agree with Kaan...
The real estate market in Turkey has seen a terrible price raise because of the Europeans, ( especially the Brits and the Germans)...
Speculation is a funny game, isn't it ?...
Europeans who love money and sun of Turkey, but who anyway keep saying " Turkey shouldn't join EU"...Wow, what an admirable attitude...
We Turks should buy all these deserted towns in Scotland and Wales, and turn them into kebab house, bakkal, dügün salonu, çay bahçesi, pastane and of course mosques , ha ha ha... |

It amazes me any time I go abroad to see English tabloids every where, fish and chips and English soaps playing in every bar. What's the piont of going on holidays if all your gonna do is say things like, "I don't eat that foreign stuff" or are afraid you might miss a few episodes of East Enders, Oh! and my favourite... Complaining about the heat. Go to Blackpool and put a hanky in your head if you don't like sunshine |

This is one brit who would never moan about Turkey. Ok I hate the parts that are full of not only English yobs but their German and Dutch counterparts! (UK is not the only country that has its share of beer swilling morons!). To those who say they would never go - you are so small minded and silly. Turkey has beutiful landscapes, fantastic food and I was amazed at how clean it was the first time I visited - this was after holidays in Malta (lovely but filthy around the beach/countryside areas - and as for public toilets!!!! ) and Italy - filthy everywhere!
I don't stay in the 'chavey' tourists places and although the prices have gone up, it is still much cheaper than England. I compare it paying greasy spoon cafe prices for a fantastic restaurant meal that I could never afford in England. My only criticism is that where we stay each restaurant owns a bit of the beach so although sun loungers, cushions, hammocks etc are free, you do have to pay a lot more for drinks which can add up for a family but it does mean that the beaches are wonderful and clean which I prefer. |

If you are on a vacation, you pay up. If you become local, you learn the cheap places. |

Don't generalise, please. I'm British born and adore Turkey's language and national culture. I can quite happily leave all things British where they belong: in Britain! |
