if gays are allowed to get married...then sisters and brothers should be allowed, animals/robots and humans, and anything else that circulates around the love and commitment of two entities...theres a difference between procreation and recreation...im not against gays and their lifestyle but where do we draw the line?? |

For legal and sociological reasons, I do not agree with the idea of gay "marriage". I do believe, however, that some kind of a legal union protecting the rights of gay couples should exist.
ADDED: Serendipity, no, it's done under the existing law. There is no definition of the word "couple" in the Civil Code, so it is a matter of interpretation whether you choose to define it as "two men", "two women" or "a man and a woman". In my opinion, the problem with these two marriages will show up if an heir for example, decides to dispute the validity of the marriage in court. Because most judges here define couple as "a man and a woman".
But anyway, best wishes to them. |

Bound to get a violation but it should never have been allowed anywhere. |

I suppose they are allowing it to attract more tourisim.
Getting married in Greece (albeit, even a Gay marriage) sounds wonderful.
Congrats to the newly-wed groom and groom or bride and bride, whatever! |

Oh well no problem with gay marriage . I hope they live happily ever after! Some studies say that gay population was 10% of the overall population all the time, but only lately they are free to come out of the closet that's why they seem to be many.
Let's not blame Greece all the time...see what happens with famous actors - actresses ....they hide their sexual orientation because even today the society is not that friendly. |

I thought Greece was going to be one of them countries to actually stand up against this, I guess not.
To me, gays are just trying to kill out the human race.
Mmm... fiesty. / / |

I also think that it was about time but not because the Europeans are doing it but because they deserve equal rights with everybody else. |

Two gay marriages actually took place this morning on the island of Tilos.
Why not. These people have rights, just like everyone else. |
