The thing is, the connection between Anatolian Turks and other nations that speak Turkic languages is very weak. A Kazakh would find Russians more close than Turks while Turks would find Greeks and Bulgarians more close than Turkmens.

This is what Soviet Union did to those countries and EU target made to Turkey.

I think now it is close to impossible to make a union. The infrastructure is not ready for this. Maybe after 50 years it can be possible if people now start planning it. It is the same with Arabs. You guys would make such a good nation if you could unite and after that you could unite Muslims.

Although it is hard to eliminate the differences it was made in the time of the prophet and all tribes united under one flag. This way you could have invaded even Iberia. Only internal fighting and egoist rulers keep Arab nations backward.

By the way here you may see from some idiots bad comments about good Arab nation. Ignore them, they are just blinded with propaganda.

A real Anatolian Turk would find and appreciate the common points in his/her own culture with Greeks, Bulgars, Arabs and Persians. This is what makes Anatolia, Anatolia.

If Turkey had formed a union with the Turkic states at the time of the breakdown of the Soviet Union, it might have worked. Turkey would then have been seen as the friendly big brother who could assist them in joining the capitalist west; maximizing its position as a bridge, historically as much as politically, culturally as much as linguistically; a role that Turkey would have enjoyed and those countries might have benefitted from. It's too late now. Turkey looks to the west. Whether it will ever happen is another matter.

I really don't want EU for my country as the way we live and think will change then...They will turn us into slaves...

EU is just about to fall apart anyway...That's why they are considering Turkiye to be in it..

We should stand alone, carry on being friendly with everyone...

EU countries need that and need this and find the solutions in other countries by stealing their sources...I'm not joining in with that..

If we had to unite that should be with other Turkic people perhaps then we would appreciate our culture even more, instead of comparing it with Greek culture or Arabic etc...Yes we have all these mixure in our culture and very similar but we still are also very diffrerent..

I dont prefer the EU, any Turkish Union or any Islamic Union.

Our biggest problem is importation. TÃ¼rkiye have to product own goods. I mean %100 Turkish cars and other vehicles, computers, industrial equipments, even airplanes. We have lots of natural sources, work power, successful engineers and rich businessmen, so; is it hard???

I admittedly am not a Turk, so I can't speak for them. I think it would make more sense if the Middle East, Turkey included if they so choose, was it's own continent however. It just seems appropriate to me. Most of the Middle East is in Asia, but the Arab countries and the people in them aren't like the other Asian countries and people culturally, linguistically, physically, etc. Same with countries outside of Asia such as Egypt and Algeria in Africa and the portions of the European part of Turkey. The Arab countries, culture, and people are unique, but Arab countries are still parts of three other continents. All Arab nations should be unified into one continent in my opinion. Maybe then the forms in the U.S. would provide an option on surveys and questionairres to select Arab as a choice as to what ethnicity a person is. There is white, hispanic, asian, native american or pacific islander, and black. I'm half-lebanese and I never know what to choose. I don't really want to put Asian, because even though Lebanon is indeed in Asia I don't think of myself as Asian. I don't really want to select white either, as I don't really look white. It's confusing. That's my gripe for the day. :) I see your point though. The issue is that you are correct. Many Arab nations are embroiled in too much violence and other issues to even consider joining as a nation anytime soon unfortunately.

Of course, if Turkiye become a member of the eu without any stupid concession, that would be good. However, appearently, this is not possible. Also, i cant understand armenian genocide relation to the eu. Furhtermore, maybe u know, there is a country as South Greek Cyprots', but, the North where Turks live cant have the same rights even they say yes to Annan plan because of the war in 1974 which Turks didnt let their people die and be raped. Because Europa loves Turks as dead! You wrote other Turkish countries, Arabians but even only one of them, Azerbaijan recognize Turkish North Cyprus State. None of other Turkish or Arabic countries recognize it also. So where is the brotherhood of the people in the same religion and in the same race? These show that this kind of brotherhoods are totally lie.

Therefore, im doubtfull about joinning to any unions. i mean today's China is what kind of a member of which union? So we must think about whether we have to join any union. I think some people suppose that after we join the eu, we will immediately become a very rich country and we will sleep all the time without working. No, we must be enough for ourselves and we have to manage to develop our country by ourselves, if we cannot make it, no-one will make it for us.

Also, again, i support a cooperation with russians much more than the lier EU.

I think EU will divide in two part like Roman Empire in 5 years later. in WW1 and WW2 they fight and now they become union. Thats not real for me.
Only one reason thet they can vant us to EU. It's our strong army. But personaly I dont vant my army to become police of Europe.

1: EU means European Union.
2:I don't think that having a strong army is a condition to join EU or a virtue.
3:I also don't think that EU,which is depending on Russia's gas for energy is richer than Azerb.,Kazak. and Turkmen.,countries with a lot of oil and gas.
4:Turks in the Northern side of Cyprus have not the right of a state because the partition of Cyprus took place because the mighty turkish army invaded Cyprus.All problems must be resolved with talk and not arms or invasions.
5:Unity of arab countries would be a very good thing.They are rich and powerfull but they constantly fight eachother or Israel.
6:Unity means peace.If unity brings peace in the middle Asia then I don't care in which union Turkey will join.

i think a union with other Turkic states would not be possible but we should definitely improve our economical and cultural relations with them.

I am not Turkish but I have a lot of friends who are and they don't want to hear about any other Turks except the ones from Bulgaria.
I am born in Bulgaria by the way and Turks there are proper Europeans!Nothing to do with Saudi Arabia for. example.
That's why they don't want to mix with others!They like to live their lives as Europeans!

WE ALREADY HAVE GOOD RELATIONS WÄ°TH OUR TURKICK SISTERS BOTH AS IN ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL TERMS. WE DO NOT NEED TO UNITE AS THE GREAT TURKICK COUNTRY. WE SUPPORT THEM IN EVERY FIELD AND HELP THEM TO DEVELOPE .

I PERSONALLY PREFER THE EU TO BE WORLDWÄ°DE AND HAVE MORE OPPORTUNITIES IN TRAVELLING ,IN EDUCATION , IN ECONOMY ETC.

FOR THE ARAB ISSUE ; YES THAT WOULD BE A VERY VERY VERY FAR DREAM .

BUT ANY HOW WHAT EVER WE SAY OR THÄ°NK DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE THÄ°S Ä°S ALL POLITICS.
