To the answer before mine - modern Macedonia belongs 100% to Macedonian people. The teritory of true Macedonia belongs to 51% Greece,38% to Macedonia and the rest to Bulgaria and very small part to Albania. But the teritories that are in greece and Bulgaria are occupied before 95 years. Macedonia and macedonians have nothing in common with greeks, acctualy Aleksandar the great occupied greeks cities, I don'k know why they now are stealing our history. Shame on them

Macedonia is a geographical region in the Balkans. Most part of it belongs to Greece, smaller parts belong to FYROM, Bulgaria and Albania.

I am of Spanish/ Cypriot background but I can tell you that Alexander The Great was Greek and Macedonians hate to hear that. They are nothing more but Yugos and they hate to hear that too.

Authentic Macedonia of Greece belongs of course to Greece. Authentic Macedonia of Greece is the historical and original Macedonia. (the birthplace of Alexander the great.)
There is also a small Balkan country that uses the same Greek name but it is a Slavic/Albanian country.
The (Slavic/Albanian)Macedonia belongs to the Slav-Macedonians, and to the Albanian-Macedonians, (and to the many other ethnicities since it is a multy ethnic state.)
Incredible enough some of the Slav-Macedonians post ridicules claims about Alexander the great and the original Macedonians(Greek)!
They should read some real historical texts (even from real historians from their country! Not crazy characters like Donsky(!!!!!)).
The ancient Macedonians claimed their origin from the ancient Greek city of Argos (in Peloponnesus in south Greece). According to their mythology a Greek clan, (the â€œTimenidesâ€) who were descendants of Hercules, moved in North Greece and formed the first Kingdom of Macedon which later became known as Macedonia. We have the statements of the Macedonians themselves recorded by the ancients!
Thoukididis verifies that the Macedonian kings' origin was from the Greek town of Argos (Book 2, 99.3):
"The country on the sea coast, now called Macedonia, was first acquired by Alexander, the father of Perdiccas, and his ancestors, originally Temenids from Argos."
and from Herodotus, Book I, 56
"...but the Dorians on the contrary have been constantly on the move; their home in Deucalion's reign was Phthiotis and in the reign of Dorus son of Hellen the country known as Histiaeotis in the neighbourhood of Ossa and Olympus; driven from there by the Cadmeians they settled in Pindus and were known as Macedons; thence they migrated to Dryopis, and finally to the Peloponnese, where they got their present name of Dorians."
In Herodotus (Book 9, paragraph 45.2) Alexander I, king of Macedonia says:
"... I myself am by ancient descent a Greek, and I would not willingly see Hellas change her freedom for slavery ..."
Tell your king who sent you how a Greek, ruler under him of the Macedonians entertained you well at board and bed."

Alexander III (the Great) talking to the king of the Persians says: (Arrian, Anabasis of Alexander II,14,4)
"Your ancestors invaded Macedonia and the rest of Greece and did us great harm, though we had done them no prior injury [...] I have been appointed hegemon (leader) of the Greeks [...] "
Arrian ("Alexander the Great" 1,16,7) describes the following incident: After winning the battle of Granicus ...
"He [Alexander the Great] sent to Athens three hundred Persian panoplies to be set up to Athena in the acropolis; he ordered this inscription to be attached: Alexander son of Philip and the Greeks, except the Lacedaemonians, set up these spoils from the barbarians dwelling in Asia"
Herodotus also states clearly the Greek origin of the Macedonians!
"And that these descendants of Perdiccas are Greeks, as themselves say, I happen to know myself,â€
(Herodotus V, 22, 1)
And "There are Greek troops, to be sure, in Persian service -- but how different is theirs cause from ours ! They will be fighting for pay--- and not much of it at that; we on the contrary shall fight for Greece, and our hearts will be in it. Although there are numerous references from the ancients (and unfortunately there isnâ€™t enough room to mention them all) the most important evidence are the Archaeological discoveries!
Everything that has been found in Ancient Macedonia is only Greek!
All the inscriptions on monuments, coins and other artifacts are written in Greek. Hundred of inscriptions both state and private are all in Greek. The names of the Macedonians written by themselves on their tombs are only Greek! There are no ancient monuments with a different language. Furthermore there are a large number of discoveries in Asia in the route of Alexander the Great. All these monuments, discovered in Persia Egypt Pakistan, Syria, India and many more countries, prove that Alexanderâ€™s quest was Greek and that his goal was to spread the Greek civilization all over the world. Donâ€™t forget that Alexander created a gigantic Greek empire and make Greek an international language!
His successors continued his worked and they formed the Hellenistic Greek world!

(we do know of course that this is probably a troll question and that probably a troll answer will be chosen! Unfortunately the pseudo-Macedonians do not like the truth!)

the History and the cultural inheritance of Makedonia defenately belongs to Greece,
its imbossilble to belongs to Fyrom,because very simple:
1-everyone knows that they are Slavs in origin and Slavs appeared at the area after 1000years,and also ,
2-is world-wide-known because of facts,texts and discovering that makedones was a Greek tribe
(even the bible:Daniel 8:5-8 and 21-22 states that a King of Greece will conquer the Medes and Persians but then die at the height of his power and have his kingdom broken into four kingdoms. )

Greece. Ancient Macedon was a Greek city state, in which Alexander the Great emerged and conquered most of the known world. Macedonia today is a province in Greece with its capital Thessaloniki.

There is a country just north of Greece that likes to refer itself as Macedonia after the break up of Yugoslavia, but they are slav in origin and are in no way related to the Ancient Greek Macedonians.

I know you probably wouldnt mind a bit of macedonian in you, but us macedonians tend to go for the clean and beautiful women from our own nationality, so stop trying to be one of these clean and beautiful women.
