Ann Frank House, Vondel park, The Grasshopper!

I used to live in Holland. The best part of Amsterdam is shopping at either the Albert Cuyp market in the Pijp neighboorhood and/or wandering down the Keizersgracht checking out the fancy stores. Second best is taking a canal boat tour and seeing everything from water level, including the flower marker, the Heineken brewery, and the restored 16th century trader ship at the docks (the Batavia). Third best is an evening out on the Dam in any cafe that strikes your fancy, perhaps preceded by Indonesian food (see Tripadvisor for up to date recommendations). Oh, and rent a bike from day one to get a real Dutch experience! They rent them at the Central train station for around 8 Euros a day.

Don't know about bars. I'd say the Canal Cruise run by TUI. Rijkmuseum, Heineken Experience, Anne Frank House, oops that's 4. sorry!

papars
Damrak and red light area by night and Rijkmuseum and Heineken Experience by the day.

Vondelpark (lunch or dinner at the Vondeltuin)
NEMO (there's a 'beach' on top of this museum!)
Rembrandtplein or Leidscheplein for drinks (there must be a bar to your likings there)

1.) red light district (wether you're into that kinda thing or not, it's still um...interesting)

2.) One of the "special" coffee shops or pubs (when you're in Amsterdam, you've just gotta do it)

3.) the canal cruise - that's just beautiful (I reckommend you do that straight after the pub ;) )

mareeclara
Anne Frank's House
Just walking the streets ( and the red light district)
Van Gogh's musuem

Very little else to be honest tho!!! I was totally disappointed with Amsterdam, but maybe I was expecting more!

Gisela, Saskia and Kaatje are three of my favourite attractions. They worked in the red-light district.
There were many more, but these three were very supple.
