spain has a LOT of British tourists and its like a home away from home in parts...this is primarily the coasts....so try the more traiditional areas, oh I guess the main cities are great ( I only went to Barcelona, which was an interesting city and the Gaudi arcitecture is worth seeing!!!!)
France has many great places.......I loved Paris, you will need 5 days min to really appreciate it.
I also loved the area in central France around the towns of Cahors. Its so pretty and there are many lovely little towns". I really recommend Rocamadour (wow!), St cirq lapopie (pretty) and Autoire...a tiny little place thats soooo pretty. You would really need a car to appreciate it and get around, but I guess there are buses. We stayed near the town of Figiac which was a nice town. The whole area is stunning.
I lived in England for a year or so. London has a lot of offer ( I agree don;t bother with madam taussands...the wax place I can never spell that one)...the tower bridge, london eye and westminster abbey are all highly recommneded.
I loved Stratford on Avon ( Shakespeares home) its a pretty place and the Cotswold area ( near Oxford...another great place to see) is pretty.....Cambridge was a favourite place of mine and York was a nice town to visit if you have time to get up there.
There are sooooooooooooooooooo many places to see you really need to look at what kinds of things you like seeing eg cities, countryside, beaches, mountains, culture etc and then narrow down some choices. Take into account these places, and in particular England and France are pricey and money does not go far...and work out how much time you want to spend in each place. you may want to base yourself in a larger city and then explore out from there ( eg do day trips to places) or you can travel around ( but note travel all the time can make you tired and its nice to stay in the same place for more than a night!) |

For France, you MUST hit up Paris. See the Eiffel Tower. Go to the Louvre (you could take a whole day there). Go to the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Walk the Champs Elysees. See the Arch de Triumph. Take a river tour. There is SOOO much to do there, a lot of it is touristy but those are the must-see places! I also went to southern France to Nice--BEAUTIFUL. Called the French Riveria, it is perfect, and right on the sea--you will not regret it!!
ps...learn a few key words in French before you go. They will be much nicer to you if you are able speak *a little* of their language! |

Skip Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London. Nothing special. The British Museum is awesome (if you're into stuff like that). You could easily devote a whole or half day just seeing it. |

I've been to France and England, specifically Paris, Monaco, Nice, and Beaulieu sur Mer, France and London, England.
In London I would hit up the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace (for the changing of the guards and get there early for a good spot!), Parliament, the Eye (the really large ferris wheel, but it takes an hour to go around so plan ahead), Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and I went to Harrod's so I could at least say I've been there! Don't go to Paddington....it's pretty sketch.
You HAVE to go to Paris, it's the coolest city! Go to the Eiffel Tower at night when it glitters, Notre Dame (climb to the top...it's worth it), Montmatre, the Musee d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, Latin Quarter, Shakespeare Book Co....try and just see as much as you can! I didn't go anywhere in Paris I didn't like, except the area around the Moulin Rouge is pretty seedy (but it's cool to see).
As for the Riviera...beautiful and gorgeous. However, if you're going on your trip to see all the must see sights, save this destination for when you want to take a really relaxing vacation. And if you do make it to Nice, go to Old Nice and get ice cream from a place called Fenocchio's. |

The person who said "England Sux" is the sort of braindead moron that England doesnt want, so ignore their comment.
Obviousley London is the place to head for, where just about every attraction can be found, and transport is excellent. For scenery etc Yorkshire and Cornwall are places to head for. A european railcard is a good idea to purchase--enabling unlimited travel throughout Europe.
Madrid is a beautiful city and the Spanish Island of Ibiza is great for nightlife.
Paris has lovely bistros and is great for the romantic, but I prefer Antibbes, Cannes and Nice on the riviera. A boat can be taken from Nice to Corsica--a great place for scenery and camping etc.
Virgin airlines are my favourite tranasatlantic airline.
If you go, have a great time, and take no notice of the moron who has probably never even travelled further than his parents house. |

If you want to go to England, best place to go is the lake district (peaceful) and London/Nottingham for shopping and clubs. Spain, I would recommend the coast as it is far too hot inland, I would suggest the costa del Sol (alicante). I haven't been to France. I would also suggest going to Amsterdam, it is somewhere you must visit during your lifetime. |
