Travel to europe or continue with college? |
I've been in college for two years now, and previously I thought I was going to major in psychology but now I'm not so sure what I want to do. I don't want to keep going to school if I don't know what I want to do, because there is no point in spending all that time and money if I just end up getting a different major. As of right now, I have NO idea what I want to major in. I spent the summer in Hawaii last year with my best friend and girlfriend. I stayed there for two months, worked at a hostel and stayed for free... the whole trip only cost me about $800 including airfare, food, and everything else. I'm really interested in traveling to Europe and doing something similiar. I would stay there for a two or three months, have some time to think about what I want to do, and go back to college. Is this a good idea? What should I do? |

Travel you can always come back and go to school when you deside what you want be or do! But you wont always be free to just pack up and go to europe! It will be an experience that you will keep with you forever so just go! Enjoy and while your there think about what you want in life where you want to me...maybe a job that will allow you to travel! |

College is your future. You can travel in the summer or after you are finished! |

Yup, go to Europe - what´s the point in going to school when you´re not sure what you want to go for?
Maybe you´ll fall in love with archaeology after going to Greece or you want to start working with children after you worked at a Club Med for a month ;-D
Maybe you want to become a painter after you´ve filled your sketchbook with numerous pictures or want to become a writer after writing down all your experiences in Europe?
Whatever the case, go do it now if you can! Yes, Europe will be here when you´ve finished school but wouldn´t it be much better to go now, find out your true passion and go back to school to learn something you´ll really like doing for a very long time??????

Oh man. I wish I traveled Europe before finishing my degree. I got a Psychology degree and then after took off for a couple years to work and live in Europe. I came back to realize I was a totally different person with different interests and most pertinent to this, I realized I didn't care about Psychology. I felt like I wasted my time. If I would have done school first then I would have surely chosen something different. I guess the only danger is that you may never want to go back to school after experiencing the world. |
