falce, Russia has that technology, but thay cost a lot of money ( that recources are situated in the Far North in the freezed soil or under the ice in te sea), there are no need to use that oil yet, cause still there are much more easily reachable recources. |

Russsians are the most wise and the most wealthy people in the world, everyone has a nice appartment and they have great public transport and free hospitals, and the best chess players.
Also, there is a Russian boat to explore Spitzbergen and there is an airline to fly directly to Thailand if you get cold....

Resources are extracted in huge amounts. However, they are not used for more advanced industries within the country. Instead, they are exported, which basically means that at the moment Russia is mostly living off the revenue it gets from selling its resources, like a third world country which it isn't supposed to be. It is frequently said that the state is addicted to oil ("нефтяная игла"), which delays development and might lead to an economic collapse in the near future. |

No, Russian have the same technology as USA, if not even better. Their technology institutes are like from distant future... They also have huge funds, especially since Putin became president. So much resources are untapped, simply because Russia has huge huge reserves of resources, and until now never exported that further that formet -USSR terrotory. But I think this is changing more and more... |
