Turkish friends, Did you read the article of Can Dündar?

I came across this article and would like to share it with you. I would like to hear your reactions and thoughts about it, especially since the elections are coming up..

http://www.guvercinevi.net/basindan_y.asp?ID=15105

Thank you

I respect everybodies opinions and thanks for answering but Selin.... you don't even understand what you read. What a pity. Those numbers are not put together by me. This is Can Dündar's article and the numbers are government announced facts.

Do you even know who he is? I personally do since he was my teacher in University and a very reputable research journalist , writing in a well known newspaper. He is also the maker of the documentary Sarı Zeybek and a few more that is well beyond your level.

I am fed up with you and your sillinesses. I am blocking you and you are not welcome to my questions any more..

You can use your other accounts to participate so you give me a chance to notice and block them, too.

Do you even know what PRIDE means? I doubt it very much..

that's a very sad case

in europe some people are religious as well but they never mix their religion with anything else
unfortunately we cannot keep this balance in turkey
the number of mosques are extreme for me
i wish there were more libraries than mosques. because turkey is a country that people need to be educated
it is so easy to brainwash if someone is not educated enough. and best way to do is to abuse religion and it is also a very dangerous way of doing. then people block themselves and become unable to see the facts

kulla
Bad view.We need well educated people.I hope that it changes. We need more schools.Education is the most urgent necessity.

thank you very much for sharing

i also read this article before you mentioned
i think it is a very sad and dramatic situation
people can guess who is behind these "investments"
and hopefully it will affect the elections, but i think it is very hard
if only those people that are mentioned in the article (imams, and other workers that benefit from the religious activities) vote for the lamp party, then the result won't change

sultan.murat
Hold on. Someone is twisting something here. Let´s get it straight; Diyanet is actually doing a wonderful job by not leaving the religion to the hands of illiterates and undereducated people, who could misuse it. Diyanet is organized in Europe too. Let´s take Germany for example;
It has some 2900 Mosques that are organized under the constitution of Diyanet. They get their Imams from Diyanet for free. If Diyanet didn´t fill in that gap in Germany other organizations would. That´s how Milli Görüs and similar organizations could gather tremendous numbers of people around them. Islam as a religion is not officially recognized in Germany so people are organized in form of religion communities, which are defined as clubs in the German law. Diyanet made it to Germany in 1984 just when some ex-patriots in the Turkish Diaspora decided to organize Muslims in Europe for their political agenda. Diyanet´s main objective was to prevent religious militants from establishing anti-secular movements and organizations. And in deed they have achieved that to a great extent.

Even though Can Dündar doesn´t comment on the numbers, they speak for themselves. They are laid out to defame Diyanet. They are laid out to demonstrate as if the whole republic has been deliberately trying to bring out more Imams and Mosques than Engineers and Hospitals.

I agree on some points but not all.

Firstly diyanet. Bence böyle bir kurumun olmaması gerek. Din devlet işlerine karışmıyor fakat devlet her din işine karışıyor. Çelişki var burda.

O yaptırılan camilerin hemen hepsi, halkın parasıyla yapılıyor devletin değil. Yani yapılması gereken camilerde her cuma yeni cami yaptırıyoruz diye değil, yeni hastane yaptırıyoruz lütfen yardım edin denilmeli belki de.

Türk halkının hepsinden operaya baleye mi gitmesini bekliyorsunuz? Sanat insanın ruhunu okşadığı için sever insanlar.Bu milletin neresinde vardı opera bale?Şehirli kültür almış insanlar tanışmış sevmiştir bu sanatları ama Çoruma bale kursanız gidecek adam bulamazsınız. Gerçekçi olmak gerek.

Fakat herşeye rağmen Can Dündarın yaptığı tespitler genelde doğru.Sadece herkesin bu gerçeklere bakış açısı farklı. Ortak bir nokta bulmak gerekiyor. Ya da mühendis ağzımla konuşayım,optimum noktayı bulmak gerekiyor.

I know it seems unfair but it does not.Turkey is a secular country so Turkey support neither a religion nor its denominations. However, religious terror generally emerges from Sunnis.Alevi people have never been influenced by Mullahs.
The thing I am trying to say is that the authorities try to prevent
Sunnis from being brain-washed killers by terrorist organizations like Hezbollah,etc...This is the reason why authorities support mosques.

srry i dont!
