as a Turkish man I adore two things Armenian:
1- Charles Aznavour. Greatest singer alive.
I like his music a lot. His French while singing is so pure and crystal that he made wish to learn French.
And although he hates the Turkish, I pray for his good health everyday. He's over 80 and -Thank God- in good health.
A world without him will be very sad and empty for me
God bless him...
2- Armenians born & living in Turkey are extra-ordinarily kind and nice people. I'm proud to have some friends among them and that they accept me as a friend. |

Nice question.
Yes, of course.
Food : Turkish barbecue.
Music : I haven't heard much Turkish music. But I like specially Azerbaijani music (and you know how much problems Armenia and Azerbaijan have). For example Rashid Behbudov, the Azeri singer was born in Tbilisi, started his music career in Yerevan and later moved to Baku. He has also recorded some Armenian songs.
Music is such a great thing, it comes from heart and soul of people.
Language : Again I don't know much about it, but I WOULD be glad to know, after all its a language. As much as I've heard it, its well-sound, I mean the pronunciations are soft. (I think Azeri Turkish is tougher). But there are lots of Arabic and Persian words in Turkish.
To be a bit constructive, I won't mention things I don't like about them.
again thanks for the Q.

EDIT:
Thank you Beemer for 'Sari Gelin'. I love that.
Vigen Derderyan, the Armenian Iranian singer (King of Persian Jazz) had recorded that in three languages: Persian, Armenian and Azeri Turkish. And very popular.

I wish we could ask and answer only interesting questions such as this one, when the topic concerns both turkish and armenian nations...That's definitely a good question, thank you for having had the excellent idea of putting this positive matter on the table...
I'm so tired of always having to defend ourselves against propaganda and hatred...
Couldn't we just talk about something that is an evidence of our similar sensitivity for music, great Music ?...
I just want to thank all the genius turkish-armenian musicians who gave their unforgettable contribution to the Turkish Music, such as Onno Tunç who composed so many magical melodies... |

All the Armenians I know are really very nice and kind people. They are excellent at hand crafts and their foods, especially their mezez are very delicious.I love Armenian music especially the instrument 'tutuk'.As far as I am concerned both nations have a lot in common in food, music and language as well.
All those from both sides must remember that the two nations have lived together for nearly 1000 years and look at the matters from this angle.Perhaps it will help clear out the antagonism between us. |

Sweetheart dont get carried away by couple of nationalist fanatics. I am Armenian and i have Turkish friends right in this Turkish section, I dont think I should mention their names, because they are being teased by fanatics as a traitor just because we talk. I have always seen Hrant Dink as my hero, who wanted to bring the two nations together with mutual respect and understanding, unfortunately he was shot by nationalists in Turkey who have deep roots in the government.
Check out these link Its a Turkish band singing in many languages, now they are banned to sing Armenian or Kurdish.
First time i posted this here most of us Turks and Armenians were thrilled and the next day those Turks who actually commented on this video positively were called traitors and moles. If anybody talks of Armenian Genocide negatively they are viewed as a respected person for those fanatics. Some average people began following their steps without noticing where it is taking us, and now we ALL hate each other, not to mention the cloned accounts.
Enjoy.

I grew up in Istanbul. In Kadiköy they have churches and in
Baglarbasi (Üsküdar) they have a cemetery . They have private schools and a number of private doctors. You can tell all of this by their names and the way their places look. They speak Turkish and Armenian and don't make any effort to stick out, they are throughly integrated into the Turkish society. I have never heard of any Armenian dish or style being in fashion or even mentioned as such. We have over 100 000 Armenians and about 150 Italian families in Istanbul but I know lots of Italian restaurants and not one single Armenian restaurant. I know a few Armenians are running pubs and cafeterias as well as other boutiques but I couldn't tell any Armenian fashion dude's name.
What I like about the Turkish-Armenians is that they are one major piece in the grand mosaic of Turkish tolerance towards other ethnic groups in Turkey. |

the hate between the two nations is not personel,so try not to take it personel
it is a political hate and it will end one day,god knows when but its gonna end,be sure about it,because we are neighbours and nobodys going anywhere.
....and the answer to your question is,
both sides do not have the luxury to dislike the opposite because everything except languge are almost the same, same food, same family style, same traditions, same look etc.All we have to do is be smart, thats it.... |

Miss Tzofia, I believe you mean well with your question like this. I know that you will make many arguments in the answers that come here. These two people like to fight. You can see that each day. There are real people behind these words, but you do not say these things to faces. You say these things to cartoon pictures that we make. You say these things to photographs of city night and baby face. It is easy to be rude without a person in front of you. I believe you are all cowards. None of you could stand for yourself. There are many people in this world who have a hard life every day. They do not have time and money to argue in Yahoo. They are the men who suffer from real injustices. They do not complain about their grandfathers. They have their own fights they fight them every day in their lives. This page has fun questions but I am sick when I see how much babies are here and they have the same words and the same fight. I wish you all could see the world. I think you would feel ashamed and small and dumb. I don't intend to be a rude person. I am talking to your heart for each one who reads this. There is more in your life than your country and the things happend one hundred years past. I wish I could teach you to this in your language. Maybe my words aren't good enough for English. |

hahah...Alana dear, you kill me with your humor...
Now to answer your question..due to the socio-political problems the two groups have, I try to avoid all things Turkish (music, food, anything)...I'm currently boycotting Turkish products. sorry... |

Qu'est ce que tu pense?

I'll admit that I don't know anything about Armenian culture. I didn't even know it was a country until I had to memorize the world map last year. |

WOW this question is still
here. Its funny cause I already
answered it 3 times, but for
some reason they don't
stick. What I like about
the Turks is of course "how
they admire and adore me".
look around I am in their
questions their answers
their dreams I presume.
Pretty soon they will
market the Alana doll
in Turkey so all the turks
can gaze at me everyday.

Most of us have Armenian friends, we appreciate the works of Armenians from different areas such as music, literature, cinema, etc and we take care not to hurt them by talking about the diaspora's political nonsense. |

That is real nice Hurricane and why are you called hurricane?
Don't tell me I think I know because you leave a big mess everywhere you go. |

? ? ? I. A. ? ? ?
|
Of course, Turks and Armenians certainly appreciate many things about each other...
But unfortunately , most of the Armenians ( I don't say " all", I just say " most " ) just can't accept to admit it, because their education has learnt them to hate us...
How sad... |

Trotsky vs Kerensky- НекIо!

Well I like nothing about them. It isn't because they are Armenian, I know and appreciate many things about Greeks -although I am not in love with Greeks either-. Same goes for many other countries. But come on, Armenia is insignificant. I have never heard of Armenian food or style (??). As for language I have no idea how it sounds and frankly I do not care.
But I guess I love how they try to be the "peaceful" one. Such as "Hello my dear friends let's talk together please..." (fck u assholes vuaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I hate you all you should be exterminated) LOL I just love it. Some others are more straight forward, their honesty is admirable.
P.S
I suggest you stop being ridiculous. Sarı gelin is already a Turkish folk song.
@Alana Awareness
If the measure of my idiocy is your conduct, I will take all of what you have listed down for me as mere compliments. |
