I was in Bulgaria two months ago, and I work with Bulgarians in some project. In Bulgaria everyone was friendly to me because I was a Turk. And the Bulgarians I work with, they're ALWAYS telling me how much they love Turks.

Turks and Bulgarians get along very well, my family has a really close old Bulgarian friend. Same with Armenians, there might be some tension, but overall we're all friends, no matter what race you are, despite the negative comments on youtube.

Because Turkey occupied Bulgaria for hundreds of years, raped and murdered people and kidnapped children. Wouldnt you hate Turks if you were Bulgarian? Why does every country that Turkey once occupied hate them?

Like Svetlana demonstrated, they were going through a nation building process, but nobody told them that people don't use fascist policies for that any more. You know how people build nations:

1. Find a common enemy to unite your people against: in their case, the Ottomans,
2. Invent a history to prove that all your people is actually one race, one culture and deny the existence of diversity,
3. If there is a significant community (in this case, again, the Turks) force them to abandon their identity, so that you can have a uniform society.

Just look at the neighboring countries that say how Ottomans "repressed" them. You will recognize the nation building process.

Of course they never tell you what they think about you in real life, that is how internet racists are. They are cowards. The problem with Bulgarians is that they are so fanatically proud of being Bulgarian which is amusing if you ask me. That is why they harass gypsies, to show how proudly Bulgarian (?) they are. That is why they secretly or openly admire witless ATAKA members. I suppose that is why the first thing they did was to get on buses off to the UK when they accessed the European Union.

Soon, there will be no Bulgarians in Bulgaria, they should busy themselves with the serious problem of emigration instead of writing bullshit about Turks. The sad thing is, Turks don't care about the Bulgarians at all. Actually, I don't think anybody cares about Bulgarians. Sometimes I see them boasting that Europe is a Bulgarian word -which is of course not- but that's about it. Nothing special.

Who will pay for what the Bulgarian gangs did to Turks in Greece, Macedonia and Bulgaria hmm? What are you going to do, trace every single person's made-up misdeeds against Bulgarians and shape your view of other individuals from various nationalities according to that? That is like a tribal tradition, it is primitive. It is primitive and humiliating to talk about the Ottoman rule in Bulgaria in 2008. I usually don't like to use this but gee "get a life".

Are you kidding me? :) I have a friend who's Bulgarian and she loves the fact that I'm Turk and I love the fact that she's Bulgarian. Believe it or not Bulgaria and Turkey have a lot of things in common, so it's nice to talk about it.

Also, youtube isn't a reliable source to find out these things. If you go on there you'll see a lot of back lashing of Turks and Greeks, but that is very untrue in reality. I also have another friend who's Greek and me and her have no hatred towards one another. We're actually very close because like with Bulgarian/Turk cultures, they're very similar.

Edit- Sure that happened, but that was all in the past. My cousin's wife is a Bulgarian-Turk who's family had to go through with that, but there's no hatred towards her Turkish family or Turks in general.

Bulgaria's unnecessarily strict visa policies kill my incentives of visiting Bulgaria...
Again this unnecessarily strict visa policies make me think that the bulgarian state has some problems with Turkey.
