Turks, how come Iran isnt listed as one of the 23 Arab countries?

News Flash ! All nations with a majority of dark haired, olive skinned people with almond shaped eyes are not the 1 ethnicity. What you are asking is as ridiculous as asking how come native Americans are not on the Arab list. Like the others said, Iranian/Persian/Farsi (whichever term you prefer) is a completely different language family to the Arabic nations. You will notice that Afghan and Kurdish people are also not on that list as their languages also fall under the Farsi language category.

Also, as the gentleman above said, Turkish is NOT an Arabic language, although we do use a few additional terms greetings such as "Selam Aleykum" (which is Arabic) due to the Ottoman & religious influence. Did you notice that Malta and Spain were not on the Arab list either even though they are very much influenced by the Arabic language and culture that made its way there centuries ago....and how about Ireland, you must have heard about the Moors in Ireland at some point?

Iran isn't an Arab country because the Iranians (or Persians) originate from ancient Aryan tribes, not from Arab tribes.
Us Turks aren't Arab either. We are mostly of Altaic origin, from the depths of central Asia.

Iran is not in the list because iran is not an arab country. our language is persian but arabs speak arabic. If you compare an iranian man with an arabic, you will find many differences

What's not Arab about Iran is its culture and history.

Iran is Persian. Persians produced the finest wines before Islam.

Edit: Hey, what with the thumb downs? Are we supposed to forget that Persians had a great culture and empire before Islam? An empire that often warred for regional dominance with other ancient cultures? Just because the mullahs choose to forget those "pagan" times?

For the simple reason that they are not Arabs. Iranians are Persian people. Have you studied any history? Even their languages are not related. Just because they have the same religion does not make them ethnically related. Can you say Christians French and Christian Africans are the same?
