Good morning.

There are 2 parts of the city, one in the European part, and the other in the Asiatic. Most monuments are in the european, but the asiatic also is very elegant, especially the destrict of Bostanci..

fanciullo
Yes, The Bosphorus seperates the city from the middle, west side is Europe, east side is Asia..

expatturk
Yes. I live on the European side and can look out my window to see Asia every day. My roommate travels daily by ferry to her work on the Asian side.

yes, even i used to go to the school to the other continent. i used to say "i am altering the continent that i stand on 10 times a week!" :))

european side has much more historical places and is much more crowded, while anatolian side is a lot more equable and comfortable.

spans the straits of bosporus, the traditional delineation of Asia and Europe.

Peter
Yes it is. And if you visit you would see that the European and Anatolian side is different when it comes to many things. Almost like two different cities!

Yes, it's on Europe and Asia.

Istanbul is in Europe and Asia. The continents and the city are devided by the Bosphorus. If you ask most Turks though, they "forget" the Asia part and claim only Europe.

Moosty
Yes, smaller part of Turkey is on Europe
But EU members England and Greek Cyprus is not at all on Europe. So what ?
