I just went to Amsterdam in March and everyone there speaks English, but the national language is Dutch. I got a great deal on North West Airlines through Orbitz or Expedia. We actually flew on KLM which is a dutch airlines, but the flight was arranged through NWA. Below is a link to the website where I learned a lot, frequently used dutch phrases, live webcam, weather, transportation, etc. We had the best time of our lives, seriously. You will have a great time.

Hi,,,, sure they speak Dutch,, German,, French and English usually.... the airlines.. check travelocity.com..... i like northwest-klm myslef..... and look up hotels.com for a place to stay....

go to the Van Gough museum, the Reichstag Museum, the Rembrant house,, the heinakin brewery, the floating garden, the Anne Franke house,, and madme Toussaids wax museum.. there are plenty of shops,,,open markets,, and for those that indulge the Smoke Shops and the Red light district.....

good luck and have fun.....

Dutch is the official language and everyone also speaks English and usually at least one other language also. KLM is the official airlinr and it is a GREAT airline too. But any airline will go with a connection somewhere.

Amsterdam is the capital of Holland/The Netherlands. Language is Dutch. Airlines, depend on the city that you are leaving from. KLM is based at Schiphol (airport near Amsterdam).

Websites: visit amsterdam.nl

Most of the Dutch do understand English and German and some understand French

I'm sure they speak English pretty well, due to the tourism. The official language there is Dutch.

loves_travelling
In Amsterdam they speak Dutch because it's the capital of Holland, but they also understand the English language very well. There are direct flights with KLM, but it probably is cheaper to fly with several transfers via Singapore or Bangkok and London with British Airways and Qantas. A good website for tourists is www.vvvamsterdam.nl or www.iamsterdam.com. Enjoy Amsterdam, it is a great place to be!!!

Soso
Amsterdam is the capital of Holland and the language is combined, they use German and French words, called Dutch. Sorry but I don't know to your last question.

Depends on where you are flying from. If you are flying from anywhere in europe KLM is the best way to go. I was very suprised when I got to amsterdam that just about everybody spoke english. Their main language is Dutch but we didn't have any trouble communicationg while we were visiting.

They speak Dutch in Amsterdam which is located in The Netherlands. You can fly KLM directly to Schipol airport which is in Amsterdam. You can also fly Continental directly.

Dutch, which I speak barely any of (just listened to a CD on the plane.) Most people were multi-lingual, and nearly everyone spoke English also.

Amsterdam is in Holland. If you live in America, try KLM or Continental airlines.
