Nice choice to go in Crete. Rethymnon is the name of the Town and it is a nice place though. You will adore it.
In Crete you will have allot to visit and believed or not you have to spend more than a month to have visited only the half of the sites that you would like to see. For instance the Minoan Palace at Knosos, and sure the second Minoan city the Faistos. The Samaria gorge, etc.

The weather down here (since i live very close to Rethymnon 40 Km) it is mild for winter period. For example today was partly cloudy and later sunny with 18 Celsius, with the lower temp abt 12 C at night.
At the end of April will be hot enough to have everyday swim at the sea. But at noon will be wise to have some jacket with you.
Since the climate has been dramatically changed in hole globe i believe that it can be very hot and dry starting from May. Some rain will not surprise us though.

The weather will be normal spring weather, in the morning sunny and nice - not too hot, you may need light clothes but also a light jacket - but in the evening you will definitely need a jacket. You can always buy everything you need there, if you miss something. Rethymnon is a big town in Crete. There are many places to go in Crete, it is a very big island. Ask the locals when you get there.

Are you Aremican or something like that? I don't want to insult you, but we are talking about a country with history more than 3000 years. Show, a little respect!! I don't mean Greece only. US spends a lot of money for your education!!

Weather in Greece at the end of April usually is sunny, but as far as I know this April will be rainy some days.

PS: Write again the islands' name and I will tell you more (excursions, etc)

Excellent weather. Do not miss Knossos, the prehistoric Minoan city. And the Samaria gorge if you are a walker.

it's hard to define the weather in greece at the end of april. generally it is about 15-25CÂ° douning the day, but, for example, 2 years ago at the end of april in crete it was snowing.

I'm going to Greece this Friday so just checked the weather a while ago, it is on average throughout the whole country, 60 degrees

Unpredictable. Well, this year it has been rather warm even during winter and spring is already here since a couple of weeks, so I presume that at the end of April on Creta (Rethymnon is a city on this big island), which is located very south, the weather will be sunny and warm. However, in any case, except your beach clothes, do bring a jacket or a light sweater, it tends to be chilly in the evening. I hope you are lucky and that you can swim (prefer the south coast of Creta, the north where Rethymno is located is not so nice).
