Greeks don't have problem with Turkish visitors
Political issues are something different than this....
And especially police don"t care what nationality is written in your passport
I suggest you to ask other Turkish people who have already visit Greece...
the basic is to stay polite and respectfull towards greece and Greeks. As long as you are,you are not only welcomed but warm welcomed
EDIT: just saw as an advertisment on TV, a spot about Turkey, and visit Turkey(a Greek spot)
and is the first(exept Cypru's) advert on TV i have ever seen about a foreign country
so you can see,our relationships are much more better than you think.....
and alexander the great:(because you are reffering to me)
what about all these bisiness mans, workers, and visitors, who were threatened there, and have their cars broken and vandalized just because of Greek lisence plates..
come on........
and btw, noone asked your opinion.you are again in GREEK section, with a question non-related to you, spreading your hatres...
Is that the best you have to do in your life? |

You, Fatma and the fake ahanda aren't Turkish.
And many Turks visit Greece. And continue doing so. So it should be OK to be a Turkish tourist in Greece.
OK. Now you have proved you are Armenian. The same rhetoric under every fake user. Why are you doing this to the image of your ethnicity? People like to see you as good people and you ruin it by trolling! I protest you in the name of Turkish Armenians, who have never sided with your racist defamation. |

Totally Blunt is 100% right.
This "Professor" is not Turkish, his account is fake.
And of course, we all know that both Turks and Greeks have good time when visiting each other's country.
The asker just took the pretext of "holidays" for putting politic issue on the table.
Stupid and childish behaviour.... |

My friend, you do not have to oppose to your goverment s policy in order to be welcome in Greece (on the other hand, if you do support it fanaticaly, you ll not manage to become the most beloved guest).
I would say that if you are respectful, you ll be tretaed much better than the average tourist.
Home > Travel > Europe (Continental) > Greece:
"There is only one Macedonia, Republic of Macedonia" (??!!)
Seems that some visitors of the site are really psychotic. |

My dear friend, you are either very ignorant and simple or your purpose is not educational.
Greeks and Turks visit each other all the time. My mom has the best memories from her trip to Instabul and I had a very pleasant cruise as far as Kousadassi (Efessus).
A lot of Turks visit Greece all the time and a lot of satisfied tourists go back to Turkey with the best memories.
Our governments may follow a different line but people have already made peace with each other
Have fun and ...PEACE! |

I can see lot of Greek people with fake identity here. The guy who asked this question and some who answered. There lot who pretend that they are Macedonians too.
And vasiliki or whatever is your name and some others read this artical and tell me that Greeks are really friendly people and that every Turks and Macedonian are safe there.
Ilija Sapkarev, Jovan Gorgevic, and Mitko Kirov, all truck drivers from Bogdanci, were physically attacked by 50 Greeks last night.
The cowardly attack happened in the city of Larissa when the three were returning to Macedonia. At Larissa, they were forcibly stopped by Greeks who at the moment were gathered for a strike. The truck had been stopped because of its Macedonian license plates.
The Greeks surrounded the truck and several of them entered the truck cabin, dragging the Macedonians out of it. From the three, Ilija Sapkarev was maltreated the most because he had a Macedonian flag in the cabin.
The Greeks took his flag out, and hurled it to the ground. When Ilija attempted to protect his flag he was kicked in his kidneys.
There were 5 Greek police officers present when the incident occurred. The policemen did not intervene, rather, helped the Greek mob by telling them to rip off the Macedonian 'MK' (intl. code) insignia from the back of the truck and everywhere where the insignia was visible.
The Macedonians crossed the St Mary border crossing several hours later, and reported the incident to the Ministry of Interior, who notified the Macedonian Foreign Ministry.
The three Macedonian drivers work for the trucking company "RiveSped" in Bogdanci. Today, no one from Rivesped wanted to speak in front of camera about the incident.
Latest information is that the Macedonian Foreign Ministry is awaiting for the official MI report, after this a note of Protest will be sent to Athens.
Thats 2nd attack on Macedonians in Greece for just 1 week. |

OF COURSE, you won't have any kind of problem for being a Turk! Don't worry about your passport, just try to be polite and not to break the law (don't drive too fast f.ex.).
You seem to be educated, so you will probably know that only people that haven't a high standard of everyday life and poor education would try to gain some selfrespect and feel important by hearting someone that has done nothing to them.
Especially in Athens, hardly anyone will ever notice that you are a Turk. |

Eventhough I'm not convinced that you really expecting an answear or that you are who you claim, I want to make sure that all people feel welcomed to visit Greece.
The majority of Greeks don't have anything against other people and we can distinguish politics from everyday life.
[edit:
@acineto: I didn;t report you
@ Alexander the great: Perhaps you should have given us all those information if you had some proof or someone made an official statement.
Furthermore, I won't even try to persuade you which is the real Macedonia and the distinction between a geographical term and a cultural one. If archaeological findings are not enough I'm pretty sure that my word isn't also. ] |
