Nicholas Sarkozy is a man who also insulted his own country's people. Some people in France slept one night thinking that they are French and the next day when they woke up they learnt that they were not French.
Nicholas Sarkozy is a man who said that about Algerian Genocide:
We can't be sorry and be responsible for what our grandfathers have done.
Nicholas Sarkozy is a man who made his presidency by using another country.
Nicholas Sarkozy is a man who said "you are worthless" to the immigrants (whose countries his country colonized, used in front raw during the wars) they called them names saying racaille and then before the days of elections he said i am an immigrant, too i support immigrants.
And many more...
Today he is talking like this, tomorrow he will say the other way. Unfortunately EACH TIME he acts like a fool like this we find "French Chamber of Commerce" saying pardons to Turkey. I hope you understand.
Tolia: You are sooo right.
Do you know what this Sarkozy said. They are for immigration but for quality immigration. Apparently he will go to the countries take " Quality" people.
And this is coming from a country's president who is known for "LIBERTY EQUALITY FRATERNITY"
I see no equality, no liberty and definitely no fraternity so far. |

Bravo Istanbulbogazi, Tolia, Johanna, Mustafa Abi...
WELL SPOKEN !!!
Sarkozy is just a dog, a cheater, and he already did illegal things.
In the 90's he bought his house in Neuilly-sur-Seine ( which is the french Beverley Hills), when he was mayor of the Neuilly city hall, and he paid only the half of the real price !!!!! He got 300 000 euros gift from the real estate constructor, and he didn't even pay the ground.
Last year, he gave order to french scientific police to do DNA investigation for the robbery of his son's motorbike, while those DNA investigations are usually done only for very serious crimes ( terrorism,etc)...A DNA investigation costs more than 50 000 euros !!!!
After his victory in the elections, he spent holidays on a luxury yacht, near by Malta, and those holidays costed 150 000 euros !!!!! In France there are a lot of unemployment, there are more and more misery, there are a lack of social appartements , but he abuse the money of our taxes !!!!
Last month, he spent holidays in Massachussets, in a villa for rent, and that villa costed 200 000 euros per week !!!
He's a b@st@d and a r@cist !!! |

Sarkozy is anti-Muslims and anti-Turks, that's absolutely obvious... |

..Tolia..

he also said bad comments about Greeks too..
So typical central European! He still believe in Pure-white-Superior race i think
Good Work France! we need people with this kind of beliefs in EU!!
But all Central European countries FORGET that their "empires" and developed countries were build using the LABOR of Immigrants from less Developed countries
Now that they need them no more, they vote for laws to eliminate immigration. And those are the same countries that some years ago, were calling the young and poor to give them job opportunities
nice! |

Oh Sarko :)
Do you take him seriously? Soon he will realize how much money it costs to French companies when he talks like that. French heavy industry is losing international tenders to sell Turkey sophisticated miliatry equipment, including helicopters. Soon, sales of French origin cars like Renault, Pegout, Citroen will go down. Do you think French people are bright enough to see this reality?
edit: Hitler wasn't German either :) |

If you were to take things at fair value, I would say he is wrong. People think that just because a majority of the country lies in Asia, you will forget the part that juts out in Europe. Presuming you lived in that part which falls on what is geographically known as Europe, would you write Asia? They might as well re-write the map to suit their needs then. There is a term called a "technicality" in all our aspects of life. Elections can be won or lost because of technicality. For example, Here in the Philippines, I was born and raised. Although I am Filipino, I cannot run for higher office . Owing to one technicality, I was not a natural born citizen of the Philippines as my parents werent nationals then. I was naturalized. But if you see me, I am pure Filipino and I even know another dialect which a lot of natural-born Filipinos don't. The same can be said about natural born Filipinos who have lived abroad for their whole lives and come to the country to run for office, not knowing anything about the country itself.
Europe is one of the seven traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, to the southeast by the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea and the waterways connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. To the east, Europe is generally divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains, the Ural River, and by the Caspian Sea.
Geographically on a "technicality", Turkey is also a part of Europe. The only difference is that Germans and the French regards Turkey as "different.” because of geography? No, We are not talking about latitudes and lontitudes, the boundaries lies the in cultural, historical and political differences. They are scared of something they don't know.
The question now is whether to regard these predjudiced boundaries as valid? Haven't you had an occasion where you won or entered something on the basis of a technicality and how you smiled at the fact you made it and how others hated you for making it on account of that technicality? |

Mr Sarkozy has to brush up his geographic knowledge a bit.
If that is the ONLY excuse he gives for Turkey's membership, then he must be thinking that the Southern Cyprus- Sorry Cypriot friends but that is what we call that county- is near İreland. |

"Nicolas Sarkozy is the son of a rich Hungarian immigrant father, Pál Sárközy de Nagy-Bócsa and a mother of French and Ottoman Sephardic Jewish descent."
I copied that from wikipedia. Self hate isn't rare among immigrants who desire to rise to power by denying their own heritage. The guy isn't even ethnic French! He is Hungarian and Ottoman! An Hungarian talking about the "Europeanness" of Turkey! Do I need to say more? |

Not all Europians are Chrisitans - in the UK in particular we have a large mixture of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and many other religious groups although the majority of younger English people like myself do not believe in any form of religion. I think there are as many if not more Muslims in England than there are Christians especially in certain cities/towns.
I think he said no because the French like to feel they are the bosses of the EU - control freaks! |

Dumb American perspective:
I worked right on the Iraq/Turkey border, and a number of times it was clear to me that my American military associates in Turkey were under a completely different command. Where I was under one section of the military because I was in Southwest Asia, they were in another because they were in Europe, at least the way the US military looks at it. This is especially true when dealing with the way fuel for the Coalition is managed and distributed into Iraq.
I know that doesn't mean anything to the EU. It's just my two cents into the conversation. |

Oh please. You're talking about the guy who sucks up to the US for everything. He's not a good president, and I never liked him from the beginning. Instead of preparing for his presidency, did you know that he was off in his yacht sailing for a week? I just wish Segolene Royale would have been president instead of him. Even when they were both on the campaign trail, Royale was the only candidate who actually took an effort to help people. She went and cleaned lakes, talked to the people of France, and did so many helpful things. I haven't seen anything which Sarkozy has done except him trying to send the immigrants back to Africa. |

I believe that Turkey had a chance to join the UE before Erdoğan's fundamentalist AK party began to rule this country; now, I see no bright future ahead for Turkey anymore: headscarved women are EVERYWHERE even where they should NOT be according to Atatürk's laws, new mosques are being built and Turkey has gone 10 years backwards. |

I think,we should appreciate Sarkozy and Merkel because they have been expressing their opinions honestly and outspokenly........What they have said about Turkey's membership is the thing that most of the politicians in EU countries think but they fear, abstain or are somewhat shy about to say directly....I must confess that I think they are up to a point right;we can not ignore the dirty laundry inside, can we? On the other hand,it is true that a good deal of EU politicians and peoples have emphatic prejudices against Turkey and sometimes these politicians are quite hypocrite, because although Turkey has been trying to be a member for 48 years, many newly establihed countries or those which don't meet the standarts of EU have been admitted into(See this page please: http://www.fpri.org/enotes/20061025.turkey.radu.turkeyeudistance.html). This hypocrisy is one of the biggest elements fuelling the fact that religious groups are gaining grounds day by day.....However I still find them right someway, because Christianity and its culture are appearantly the very basis of EU,no matter how secular the peoples and politicians in Europe are......and Turkey as a Muslim country,is trying to be a member of a Christian club.(Don't get me wrong please,I have very strong secular views in a way that I don't like religions and religious stuff)
Be yourself and answer this question.
Would you accept Turkey if you were Europeans? |
