What's your favorite thing about Greece?

there can never be just one thing that you love about the place that you love. And Greece is my adopted country, so I chose to live here rather than just being born here and not knowing better.
But if I had to choose one thing, it would be the passion. When you come here, you will leave with your senses inflamed and your heart on fire!
When I came here the first time, I fell in love with the evocative passionate music, the food, the lifestyle. People go out here on any day of the week, not just on a Friday or a Saturday. Sometimes they might spend their entire months wages on something silly like fresh flowers at a bouzouki to throw at the singers feet. We break glasses when we dance to show our emotion and I just love that "ahhh, whatever" attitude when people take 1hr coffee breaks and park in the middle of the street, or close their businesses for the day to go fishing. :)
lol, I mean its annoying sometimes when you need to go to a public office or something or when you go shopping and you encounter the "ahh whatever" attitude. But its a fantastic way of life so you have to go with the flow.
I mean I am living in a small part of Greece, on an island, so it cant be equated to Athens and the bigger cities. I love my part of Greece!

The Islands
The History and Archaeological Sites
The Food
The Weather
The people and their genuine hospitality
The mountains
The variety of complete diverse holiday destinations
The madness of Greek drivers ( Love them or loathe them - they are incredible to watch, especially if you were brought up or learnt to drive in another country )
Greek Music ( the fact that I don't understand half the words doesn't stop me from enjoying the music and singing )
Athens ( still a truly unique city, despite the traffic, overpopulation and other problems it may have )

The weather,the people(friendly and hospital) the fact that you might be living in a big city but still have enough freedom to build a two story house minutes outside the city core :)

My family.
Being able to do things on the spur of the moment.
Not batting an eyelid when someone suggests we go to eat at a taverna 3 hrs drive away!
The scenery - I love mountain villages more than coastline.
Eating out
Days like yesterday in Preveza ... December - Sunday the town was packed with people (in their best clothes) sitting outside, enjoying the winter sun!

Why do I always get thumbs down???? This is my opinion lot an agree/disagree statement! Grow up

I do not know what my favorite thing about Greece is, but I have lived in several countries in the world over the years, and as much I hate to admit it, I cannot see me living anywhere else but Greece.

the islands, people can say the mainland is as beautiful as they want, but nothing compares Greece to its islandss.. i love the waterr! =)

There's the food, the cafes, the beach, the shopping, the monuments, the weather, the good looking guys, the fun friendly people... there's just so much.

But the one thing that keeps me here, is the feeling I get when I'm just walking down the street. It's this feeling of complete and utter happiness for no apparent reason. I'm not sure why I feel this way, but it seems I'm not the only one. I've spoken to a lot of people that feel the same way. I think it might be the sun...

So come to Greece, and... be happy :)
