Spain!
The largest cities (Madrid, Barcelona) are more expensive.
Try some place in Andalusia, the "Spain as foreigners think it is": flamenco, sevillanas, bullfighting (well, I am ashamed of this last one...), cuisine, friendly people and marvellous architecture, especially of moorish origin.
Nightlife is very good all over Spain, especially on the coasts, in University towns, big cities and the islands (The Balearics, and the Canaries).
There are interesting natural and national parks on the country denoting our natural diversity. There are many different landscapes.
I've been in France and Italy, and soon in Scottland, but a CHEAP destination you will enjoy a lot is Turkey. I just visited Istanbul, is a fabulous city, stimulating in every sense! and cheaper compared other big europeans cities. |

Camping or a Gite or caravan in France. The French camp sites are generally very good.
If you want a package, then the Canary Islands are fairly reasonably priced, as are places like Majorca and Minorca,
If camping/caravanning in Europe appeals to you and you aren't too far away, then the Boating, Caravan, Campint Show at the NEC Birmingham in February has lots of stands with holiday reps from European Countries giving info about sites in their Countries. |

I take it when you say holiday, you mean a relaxing holiday?
Well you can't go too far wrong in Majorca if you want cheap, as long as you look around for deals. I've been a number of times and had some great holidays. I also went to Portugal once and found it really wonderful and relaxing. |

Get to Gar De Nord and you will loads of info for cheap hotels.
Get a mobilis card, which for a full day gives you access on the metro, landline CNCF and the buses. You can easily get to the eifel tower on the metro, euro disney and val de europe on the CNCF and around Paris on the buses. |
