picture.
descriptions help too..
but a picture gives you a definite idea of what the object is, instead of you having to create an image in your head that probably isn't even accurate. |

I hate descriptions. They are writing it like telling 3 years old kid.
Picture of it enough.
Have a nice day. |

Picture. Because each person has their own description as well as interpretation of what they see. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. |

The picture catches my eye - and if it looks interesting, I read the description. |

It depends on the object. I appreciate some things more visually. For instance, I'd rather see Lumahai Beach or a beautiful woman.
On the other hand, I'm an English teacher, so vivid written descriptions I read can also affect me. I felt that way when I read Fly Boys by James Bradley. |

Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, but, words are also important, so, I guess, for me, both! |

The picture of an object will leave a longer impression. However, if i am told something such as a trivial bit of info, i am more likely to forget it than if i read it myself. So sight is first, reading second, and word of mouth third. |

hhhmmmm.... first i'll read the description, because that would catch my eye.. but the picture would impact me more. |

Picture, because I'm more of a visual learner. You can sit there and tell me 5 pages about what a gkjlkjldkj is, but I won't understand it until you give me a picture. |

I think it depends on how the description is written. Some writers can make an object have more meaning than just a picture. Their descriptions help tell a story of the object, whereas a picture may only be of the object itself.
However, I have seen great photographers be able to tell a story with their photographs, so maybe it just depends on the presentation of either. |
