Most of them are extremely friendly, and speak good English, especially in the parts of the country where tourism is high.

And as for what the guys look for in a girl... from what I've seen: positive, laid back and outgoing would be three characteristics that would suit them nicely.

I haven't lived here for very long yet, but from what I've noticed, pretty much all Turkish people are nice and very friendly. Something I learned before I got here was that the Turkish flag and the first president (and founder of the Republic of Turkey) AtatÃ¼rk are very very important to them. So just be careful what you say! But really though, the people are great. I'm not sure what the guys look for in a girl though, sorry!

I have to be honest from personal experience of course....

I moved to turkey some 10 years ago (from the uk) and have met a lot of people in the process....

My opinion of the turkish men in the tourist areas are that they are users. They are there to get money, or to use the girls (if you know what I mean) (turkish girls do not permit until marriage night). Tourist girls are easy in their opinion. They are very hot to sweet talk, they will only tell you what you want to hear.

If you are thinking of marriage never marry one who works the tourist areas. If you are set on mar ridge marry one who is from the big cities as they are most modern. The village men tend to treat their wives more like a house maid more than anything else. But you wont find this in the larger cities as they believe in a modern life.

I do have to point out something however. A lot of turks only want to marry to enable them to gain free citizenship to other EU countries. ( just bare this in mind)

Now I want to say that I married a turk 5 years ago and I am very happy.

Coz my ex girlfriend also once tried to discover me by people's generalizations about turkish men and it totally sucked and irritated me so much...

I hope you get what i mean, be yourself, if it doesnt work, it means you guys are not meant for each other, that s it.

Well... most Turkish people are friendly and give family value. Many of the ones I know talk a lot... especially the women lol. They also like to eat a lot it is a big part of our lives, and they won't take no for an answer if you say that your NOT hungry. Also... most Turkish girls wait untill marriage so if your not a virgin it is a big deal... well my family would make it a big deal. From my experience with turkish guys i can tell you they do sweet talk a lot to make you happy even tho it might not be true lol. And im not saying all of them do but most of the guys i know cheated on their girlfriends before and i have experienced this too. And they are really good liars, they can lie about anything and get away with it. Also you might want to know ... If they find out you are from EU or America they will want you for that so if I were you I wouldn't tell them you were foreign. Thats what I did and I had no problems haha. I think most turkish guys are annoying when you are together because they stick to you like glue.. they are so jealous ive never seen such a thing,.. If you have a guy friend you talk to they will think something different and say " don't talk to him", it happened to me before so if you want a turkish boyfriend you better be patient and calm.
