I recommend Altinkum (near, if not then on Didim).
It's less tourist-y than Marmaris but still not dead. I recommend you go between June and August since any later and the resort starts to close up a bit and it gets much quieter. Probably more quiet than your looking for.
I recommend the Dolunay Apartments if you don't want all inclusive. The Dolunay (Doll-Lin-Ay) is only self catering and a great hotel because it is like your own mini apartment. It also has disabled access.
Here's a picture of the "hotel":

Click on "travellers photos" and have a look through. Ignore any bad reviews, we had a great time there. We went in June by the way.
If you're looking for all inclusive, probably not with you wanting to go to clubs and bars etc I recommend Didim Beach Resort And Spa. It's less than ten minutes walking distance to the town centre and is great for all ages. You're best going all inclusive if you go around September/October time when it's quieter.
For the culture you have the Temple Of Apollo just a five minute bus ride away (only costs about two pound for four people for bus). You get Dolmuses (the Turkish word for "bus") to the Soke (So-Kay) market for a great day out.
At the opposite end of the town (near Dolunay) there is the Medusa disco which is one of the biggest disco's in Turkey, it is also an open-top disco (no roof).
There is good shopping centres, great bars and great clubs.
I recommend you visit Mr Whites Ege (Egg-Eee) Bar for a good night one time. Say hi to him from his Scottish friends! He should understand.
Most places are all in walking distance and if not Dolmuses (sp?) come along very frequent, just wave them down like a taxi and get in. You pay before you leave the Dolmus and it's only like a Turkish Lira each (about sixty pence).
Most hotels are very cheap in Altinkum because they are basic but please don't be put off by pictures or reviews, Altinkum is a wonderful place. Also everyone who's been there and to Marmaris recommend Altinkum over Marmaris any day!
Anymore questions just e-mail me.
Hope I helped! |

i would say Altinkum because there is good night life and its getting better and better year after year.Check out the Medusa Night club and Garden Bar. Also there is a new Marina which is schedule to open 1st May 09 ..It's well worth checking out because there will be more bars and resturants opening there along with a new shopping centre .Altinkum also has the cleanest beach in the Aegean coast of Turkey, lots more to do, You can even go and vist the greek island (kos) for £20 its only about 1hr 15min on the catamaran boat.Bodrum is also an hour away if you would like to spend the day there.. june -july -august is the best time to go if you like the crowd...many beautiful turkish girls from istanbul go there to enjoy..All the best! |

Club Bozok, in Gumbet, near Bodrum.
Fanatstic hotel, and lovely resort, quite lively, but not too loud so you can avoid the nightlife! |

I suggest Ichmeler which is in between Turunc and Marmaris, the beaches are lovely, there are lots of bars and restaurants but it is alot more upmarket than Marmaris so you don't get the lager lout element. Sorry cannot suggest a hotel as my mum lives in Turunc so have never needed to stay in one. The internet would have ideas on that. |

I'm in Turkey on business all the time. All the hotels are good... just go with the most affordable. I always start by searching BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites from one location, and save tons of money. Good luck! |

Hi
I would suggest Marmaris, it is full of nightlife and day life as well. My second choice would be Cesme it is a small town near Izmir, it is on the coastline where you can practically see the Greek Islands. It's a very beatifual city. |
