Hitler's name was never Schickelgruber; his grandfather's was.
Hitler realised that his grandfather's change of name to Hitler was fateful, because nobody would have followed a leader with a name that would sound comical, even to Austrians.

Are you asking about "Austria" Claire?
That's the birth-land of Adolf Shicklegruber. It is a part of the Teutonic states. Considered German by many. Poland used to be part of the Teutonic empire before world war one as well. A lot of Germany was lost after the first war was over.
Now this Herr Shicklegruber was in world war one for Germany as well, he was a corporal but before he entered the German army he changed his surname from "Shicklegruber" to "Hitler". He was really pissed when Germany gave up, and surrendered.
