What country should I visit? |
Hi, my family is going overseas next summer, and my brothers and I can pick a place to visit on our way back. I don't know what country to pick? I don't know what type to pick? A european country? Like france? where there is art and architecture and museums and cafes? Orrr... a place like Morocco, where there is middle eastern stuff and exotic stuff? Or a place like in South America where there would be rainforests and stuff? Any ideas on what place? (please tell me what there is to see too! thanks a lot :D ) |

You've mentioned three very different and very interesting places any one of which would be a fantastic choice. Do your brothers have a preference or are they OK with any one of the three? If they are, and you are too, pick the place you may never be able to visit again after this trip! Europe is rich is history and France is a beautiful country. Depending on what all of you can agree upon, Paris would be an awesome place for a short stay as would the Cote d'Azur which includes Monaco. They are all gorgeous in their own way and rich in history. |

Why don't you do a tour so then you get to see many countries (depending on your age, like a european contiki or top deck tour) also a south pacific cruise is always fun.
Depends on what your in to, relaxing by the beach - recommend Tahiti or adventure - NZ or cultural experience - Europe. |

NOTE: Capitals are not shouting or yelling, but are to stand out ONLY.
Apart from the fact that I'm Australian, for that matter are you an Aussie?
If not I'll DEFINITELY suggest you LOOK AT visiting AUSTRALIA 1st, because it's the safest trip you'll ever make around the world garanteed! (and we have the largest resource of natural structures mega-structures and preserved cultural artifacts in the world because we care more about our past and have had no idiot dictators to destroy evidence of past events, so most of it still exists for public view.
So what are you waiting for it's time to come back Down to Earth :)
BUT keep in mind that you'd probably want to consider avoiding Sydney & Canberra at ALL costs completely (most of Sydney is a mini America with alot of sub-cultural gang problems and corporation corruption, where Canberra is where all political B.S. controls everything...like the government mafia etc but not many people have the balls to admit this...BUT I DEFINITELY DO! hehehe).
Oh yeah Aussies are really well known to be PARTY ANIMALS :) so have fun!
Other than that try these:
Holland (Agriculture and flat green landscapes, Wind mills, Great Home-style Food, Alot of Museums and Historical monuments like my Great, great etc. Grandfather's statue in front of the Royal Palace, and a beautifully natured culture),
Switzerland, (sisterland of Holland with hills)
Germany (learn why Germans are NOT Nazi's, how they are just like the rest of the world...beautiful, and taste their exquisite cuisine's and beverages for which they're famous),
France, (learn the worldwide laguage of love, and/or visit Pizza or the Eiffel Tower)
Greece (visit Athens and learn about the origin of the Olympics and competitive sports, or awe over the giant mega-structures of the past, and/or find out where pizza's originated...Greece or Italy?),
Japan (learn the latest in groud-breaking computer technology, and/or learn of the Great Dynasty Era, with a very pretty culture),
Any country in Great Brittain (Extensive wealth of History artifacts and monuments for each country, and/or learn how England beat the Romans to become their own country and how they came to be the dominant superpower over Europe in the world of yesterday),
New Zealand (hills as green as the eye can see, you could learn about the Maori people and their past tribulations and artifacts),
or any small islands like Tasmania, Figi or Vanuatu etc (to relish in island paradise).
[EDIT] EXCEPT you probably should AVOID Afghanistan, Iraq & North Korea (because of warfare and suicide bombers) epecially, but Bali, and the Philippines because of suicide bombers, civil violence and mostly drug trafficking problems (hence Australian Citizen Shappel Corbey had drugs slipped in her bag by a drug trafficker or maybe even the customs agent, at the luggage checkout in Australia, and is now in a Balinese prison for nothing, but what's new huh?).
NOTE the countries in general in the previous paragraph are full of TERRORISM! So for your own safety, please don't go there...unless you have some sort of weird death wish, then I'd say do as you please.
Where you visit will also depend on how short your desired visit will be.
Oh yeah what that previous person said about water usage in Australia is 100%TRUE, and our Farmers are really struggling so make sure you don't waste any water here or you could end up with a fine, but that's if you come to Australia of course, I don't know about other countries.

it depends on the money you have, but i'd recommend belgium. it's a magnificent country and you'll definitely be impressed. unlike france, it's not packed with tourists.
but if you're adventurous, you should visit russia on the transsiberian. start in st petersburg and go to moscow and from there on take the transsiberian and stop on your way to cities in siberia like ekaterinburg, novosibirsk, ulan udai and visit lake baikal, then go to vladivostok and get a plain to the us (that's where you live, right?) |

I prefer Australia, It's got lots of shopping, romance, fine food, extreme theme parks! and most of all its the luckiest country in the world. But you have to bring your english of course and your Australian accent G'day mate! Also This year we treat water like gold SO DON'T USE TO MUCH WATER!!!!!! |

New Zealand----haven't been but am planning ---south island for the exotic hot springs and stuff north island for the forests and waterways sounds like there is just about everything---hold me back.Need to update my passport--- also sounds safe to visit although from the news sight which somehow I have not found again (I am a bit-- no a lot- not skilled at this) kayaking on your own is a bit dangerous---a lot--an American just lost but of course I will be more careful and I am a lot older and wiser. |

All what u mention is obviously worth a visit for their own inbred and very diverse cultures.
That said - how about Australia / New Zealand!
Beautiful countries, very diverse and their histories and cultures are worth seeing and exploring.
Main question is - how much time will u have!
It its a back-end-call (going home / stop off 3/5 days) then no, probably France or Morocco would suffice.
Australia or New Zealand is a prime-visit-call and 2/3 weeks would be needed to do either of them justice. More so Australia than New Zealand because its so large. Moreover, crossing Aussie by train would be a prime factor on my agenda. (I.e.) Sydney to Perth.
Wherever U go - albeit - its what u expected! |

Unfortunately this question is entirely subjective. It depends on what you like! Do you prefer cities and night life, or desolate, beautiful places and the outdoors? I've been to Ireland, England, France, Germany, and Italy. I've also been to about 40 of our 50 states. Every place I visited was amazing, but I liked each spot for different reasons. I had a fun time in Germany doing the bar scene thing. But I had amazing trips to Ireland and England visiting the countryside and enjoying the "real" culture of those places. However, if you're going for the food, you have to go to Italy. Paris is a place that I think everyone should visit once in their lives - it really has history, culture, and good cuisine. But there are so many places I'd like to go that I haven't been to yet - for instance, Peru, Machu Pichu, New Zealand (Lord of the Rings!), Australia, China, Japan, Greece (talk about VERY ancient history). Sorry - this probably didn't help you much, but I would say, if you want city life, try London, Paris, or Rome. If you want countryside - Ireland or the Peak District in England. |

Well, left to, i'll suggest somewhere in South America. Preferrably in Uraguay where I hear is a lovely and largely undisturbed spot for vacationing.
People talk about visiting it alot, myself, i'll visit it someday when I raise enough cash. I hear that New Zealand is also a great tourist destination. (If it matters, i'm Sonnen writing from Nigeria. Ciao) |

First you have to mention from which place you are
going to start your journey and where you are going
to head out. Then only I can re-commend you a place
as a stopover. I assume you live in the U.S.A and
heading for the far-east. If this is the case then I
would suggest stopping in Europe as there are so
many countries that you cannot make any mistake.
I was recently in Portugal and was surprised as to
historic places that they have to see besides the
beaches. France,Germany,Span are regular spots
everyone know about these places but hardly many
people are aware of this. Morocco Tunisia etc are
also worth seeing but if you are an American I
would not suggest you go there(its a real pity that
due to a few fanatics we are thinking this way). |

Morocco is SO cool. I'm from Portugal, so I'm gonna tell you to visit us just because we have a lot to offer.. Portugal has beaches but also historical stuff. I'm from Madeira, which is the Islands, which is off the coast of Morocco.. so maybe you can visit us then Morocco!
Depends on what you're looking for! European countries are historic and easier to check out but also pricey. Morocco and countries like that have great architecture as well and are more for the dangerous at heart!
South America is cool too, I lived in Brasil for a while, but only go if you want to check out the nature. |

I going to take a trip to Syria because it has so much more history than the like of Australia and New Zealand, even though these are my home countries, there history only dates back to 300 years ago with regards to solid History. Objects that are historical, that are over and above 300 years. There are so many countries, if i were you i would get a dart board and throw a dart and see where it lands.
And by the way, wherever you go, HAVE FUN!!! |
