Imperial American |
What do Turkish people think of the great and powerful American Republic? |
I know that Ankara and Washington are on good terms , although all the drama leading up tp the Iraq liberation war did strain relations just a tad (However I believe that had more to do with Turkey wanting to appease the European Union , because France and Germany were so opposed to the war) then Turkey actually not wanting to help. Now do not take this question the wrong way everyone just civilized answers please ;)...LOL |

What is this? The bayram of harassing Turkish users in YA?
And I don't think you're American either. No self respecting American would talk like you. An identity crisis on your side is more like it.
Edit: I meant you, Babe. If you don't like it, I can change it to, "American who is respected by others". :DDD |

Maybe America is 'great' but it has no heart and brain.
America caused lots of deaths in recent years. Also it gives money to foreign intelligent students to study and work there.I know you won't accept it and get angry but I have to say the truth: America is great because of foreign intelligent people, especially Turkish..And be sure, I'm not trying to make my country's ad.
PKK: Yeah, it was all drama. While Bush was talking about supporting Turkey, I'm sure he made secret plans with Barzani and others. |

We think that the great and powerful American Republic is so great that all those millions of great and powerful American's could manage the elect "the perfect man" to represent themselves.
George W BUSH, that is and that is you, of course :))))) |

you better ask this question to the families of murdered civilians in Iraq.
Good point Cetin, they should recognize the American Native genocide, and compensate their descendants.

I've lived in the 'Great and powerful American Republic' I have no problem with its people but I hate its government and army, bush and the rest of his gang, I only wish that the public would wise up and clean up some of the people at the very top, IMO its obvious that the 9/11 was done by the US it self, not terrorists. How bush was re-elected after 9/11 was shocking news for me. I just hope Obama wins this election |

Well said friends. I like your response Irmak.
Great and powerful American Republic eh? Only a really stupid American would say that.
The Iraq liberation war? Liberation from what and who? Almost 700,000 innocent Iraqis got killed after the American invasion. And God knows what dirty political games the US is playing in northern Iraq. |

They must love the US since they keep immigrating there. They must love Europe too since they keep moving there too. Guess they hate Turkey. |

The Babe is Armed!

"American Republic" is an odd choice of words. I assume you don't mean Canada, which is also an American republic.
The drama before the Iraq invasion was because US military planners ASSUMED Turkey would do whatever the US wanted. It is this kind of disrespect to other nations which keeps the US from being great and powerful.
I will point out that someone hating Turkey shouldn't hate Turks. Someone hating the US should not hate its citizens either, at least not without a personal reason.
(I know I am preaching to the converted about this and I thank you for that :)
Mamma, what is a "self-respecting American" anyway? ;) |

Turkey on this particular point will not be noted for any noble position it took against Bush at the time when we needed Turkey's support most.
The fact of the matter is the 6 million dollar offer of aid to Turkey for its support was refused by Turkey in hopes of a better deal.
Turkey originally denied access to US military to gain billions of dollars in aid with delaying tactics. The strategy backfired on the Turks.
The US took back its offer and only recently Turkey gave US troops rights to Turkish bases and air space in return for the US help in controlling the PKK.
I would not criticize any actions of the US involvement in Iraq if I were a Turk. Turkey looks very suspicious in all this, and sooner then later we will see Turkey's true intention that has been concealed behind a false front. |

I couldn't possibly know what Turkish people think of 'great and powerful Americans' but I know what I am thinking of them. So, I think that they should be more careful when electing their politicians, as they are a bunch of dummy and ruthless people ruling the world. |

Kaddykat you are such a
liar! The US has only assisted
turkey with information on
the locations of PKK bases
that is it. How long you been in
turkey? Well thats how long
it takes to fit right in there
with your lies.
Your name fits you.
ADD:( I am laughing
at the morons here who would
bite off the hand that feeds them.
Gives one a clear understanding of why
their country is in such a turmoil. |
