Dutch people in general are arrogant, chauvinistic, opinionated, loud and have no manners...

Generally, I hate them, and I'm one of them.

Usually I tell people I'm Belgian.

But to each their own, I guess.

Dutch people are weird, little selfish, arrogent some time, strong of opinion(even when completely wrong) and have a strong love for land and people. By the way: yes I'm Dutch

livinhapi
they are the greatest people and nicest, but some are just a little snotty.

well, everyone gave a positive view on the Dutch people, I'll agree to most but I would add that Dutch people may not be as tolerant as they claim: they are more indifferent, until an issue bother them and then it is the Dutch way that should apply and nothing else. They all speak good English but if you speak Dutch, they will appreciate it. they can appear "cheap" ("going Dutch" is real over there!) they will not hesitate to impose their view on you.

I don't know many Dutch people, but the ones that I do know seem like perfectly nice individuals. I hope I get to go there some day; some of my (very distant!) ancestors lived there.

Fientje
They are such cheap skates !
Right on " Not my real name " , I like your style .

Dutch people are friendly, even to foreigners. They appreciate foreign-look people and don't discriminate them. When speaking, sounds like singing ^_^, I like their voice. You may discover "go dutch" but not for everyone. I agree with the others, they are heavy drinker, they drink beers and eat cheese very much. Some elderly people are not as friendly as the younger one.

Generally Nederlands is a beautiful and peaceful country. Great view, especially when you take the train to discover some cities in this country. The transportation is the best in the world, you won't need a car to travel and the timetable is stated clearly on each station. The airport is so cool, well arranged and lots of shops. You won't get bored.

The Netherlands is impressive.

Depends from which point of view.
Compared to many countries we are still very liberal, open minded and relaxed about a lot of things. We are a multicultural society with relatively a low amount of problems.
On the other hand Dutch people are not so free and liberal anymore as before. Last years a lot of things changed and intolerance towards many things is growing.
Dutch people have the tendency to be a little arrogant, allthough most are friendly at the same time.
Allthough many people love to complain about everything, Dutch people in average still don't get hot-headed very easy.

Very determined people who mind their own business. The Netherlands is a beautiful country.

I had a Dutch friend once. He was a foreign exchange student, and I took him to school everyday. He was a pretty cool guy, and we were both on the soccer team. He did like to party a lot too. Very heavy drinker. All in all he was an alright chap
