What do you know about Van Resistance? |
"The Resistance at Van (Armenian: Վանի Հերոսամարտ) was an insurgency against the Ottoman Empire's attempts to liquidate its Armenian population in the vilâyet of Van. It was one of the few instances during the Armenian Genocide where Armenians, in an act of self-defense, fought against the Ottoman Empire's armed forces.
The fighting lasted from April 19, 1915 to May 6 of that year, when Russian forces relieved the beleaguered Armenian defenders.
"
"The Armenians offered five hundred soldiers and to pay exemption money for the rest to buy time, however, Djevdet accused Armenians of "rebellion," and spoke of his determination to "crush" it at any cost. "If the rebels fire a single shot," he declared, "I shall kill every Christian man, woman, and" (pointing to his knee) "every child, up to here.""

I ve seen a lot of Armenian propaganda on here lately.
Question . Whilst Russia was oppressing and bleeding your country dry over the last century did they also cryogenicly freeze the population after 1918.
its just a thought as you all seem to bleat on about incidents from around 100 years ago which have no bearing on the people living today. |

If I read the link you posted, I might know what wikipedia says. Do you know wikipedia is written by anyone who wants to contribute?
What is know about Van Resistance is "Not much."
ALSO: Did Djevdet really say that in English? Who was there to translate into Armenian? |

Good question let me explain truths....
ARMENIAN REBELLIONS AND MASSACRES
THE EXCAVATION OF VAN - ZEVE MASS-GRAVE
Armenian Massacres in Van - Interview with Witnesses
In the excavations that were started on April 4th 1990 in the cemetery for martyrs near Zeve which is in the vicinity of Citören Village that is located at 18 km. north-west of Van province, in accordance with oral statements of the eyewitness "Ibrahim Sargin" who witnessed the event, after removal of 30-40 cm thick earth, massacred human skeletons were found. It was observed that some of the skulls were broken, some were crushed and some were cracked and burnt. The most important findings of the excavations were poniard (khanjars) and daggers, a lot of cartridges, pieces of silk clothes, necklaces with bead of Sultan Reshad's monogram, amulets covered with wax, copper coins and glass buttons.
When these findings are combined with the statements of the eyewitness, the following information are obtained: The Armenian guerrillas who entered the district under Russian support in 1915 started attacking the villages, killing innocent Turkish and Moslem people. The Armenian guerillas brought into Zeve village about 2000-2500 people who were gathered by force from eight villages in the district and were put in houses and barns. They first tortured these people with piercing and cutting tools and then opened fire at them. Then, they set all houses on fire. Materials found in the excavation have been exhibited at
" Massacre Section" in Van Museum.

Well, I've never heard of this until now, but I will guess that it obviously has something to do with Lake Van in Turkey. A resistance, from what I know, is either of a certain group or country to almost "resist" their enemies. So, the Van Resistance was when Turkey's enemies or Turkey itself resisted their opponents in the Lake Van region. Like I said, I could be wrong and I did not read the rest of your question, because you did ask of what we ALREADY know about this resistance. |

Armenian propaganda is based on the reports of Christian missionaries hanging out in Anatolia at the time. (Don't ask me what they were doing in a war torn area and to what purpose.) That, and the propaganda book, the Blue Book, whose counterpart about Germany was refuted by the British parliament afterwards.
I'm very very sure those holy men the missionaries were very very impartial while reporting the events and didn't favor Christian Armenians against Muslims.
And I'm very very sure that they did a random sampling of villages in accordance with statistical science and visited all those villages to see the suffering of various societies, and didn't mislead the receivers with reports of only Armenian villages.
I'm very very sure that their reports were scientific to a fault, and didn't hide any facts, didn't ignore atrocities commited by the denizens of chosen villages and didn't exaggerate what others were doing unto them. |

I have learned about Van Resistance when I was at school. Our physics teacher explained it to us quite well.
Van resistance is a resistance of type III, used in electrical/electronic devices such as 'human extrement regulator Mark IV', and currency regulators used in 'Desalination Plant for Urecum Armenicum'. |

Hello,
Do you ever worry that being consumed with hate is unhealthy? Of course I don't know you so I don't know what you think and do with your time but it looks like you are putting a lot of effort into something that is unhealthy and negative for your life.
Be careful, you can never get the time you wasted here back. |
