The Carpathian mountains are very rugged and have an awesome wild grandeur. Bears and wolves are there, as are Imperial Eagles.
The Roma music there is just so good, it is played at weddings and feasts by gypsy musicians who hand down musical skills and traditions from one generation to the next. It is a pious country, Religion plays a big part in peoples lives, not necessarily Christianity either. As to the supposed invasion by Romanians to the UK soon, I do not think it will happen. As a nation, they have greater ties with Italy than they do with us, that is where they will head for when they join the EU. Our Polish invasion happened as we have a lot of historical ties with that country, they all came here. Do not believe the racist Daily Mail stirring up hatred in saying that thousands upon thousands of dole scrounging , theiving, lying gypsies will come here to violate British womanhood and live high off the hog on social security, that is what they said when Slovakia and the Czech Republic joined the EU. It did not happen then, all they are doing is to stir up privet hedge paranoia to sell their vile smears as genuine concerns. |

I have just come home from visiting Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria.
Romania has the best chance of success, in the next 25 years, of all these countries. Georgia comes last. |

I have never been, but I saw a beautiful film with Angela Georghiu singing in your old churches and I loved both the music and the architecture. You also have interesting legends and picturesque customs. There also are some wonderful athletes, gymnasts and ice-skaters trained in Romania.
I understand you had a very rough time as a nation under a dictatorship and that people in certain areas are very poor.
You have sick children in orphanages and old people who are living in dreadful conditions. We are told many Romanians want to come to Britain to work rather than staying in their own country and try to make it better. |

THE TRUTH !?! Maybe my truth, from my point of view :Romania is a wonderful country, with a great nature, a long history and a rich culture. But, yes it's a BUT, there are also leaders with interests and everyone wants to do the best for himself. RICH COUNTRY, POOR PEOPLE ! |

I have never visited but i know many people from there. I think its a place where there are lots of beautiful hardworking people and has unfortunately got very bad publicity. Countries are made by people and im sure it will rise to glory |

Home of Dracula! =o) I've recently learned a little more about Romania, and have met people from there, it seems like the people are nice (and very good looking) i would definately travel there, I would love to visit and learn more about the culture, i think it's one of those places that might be a hidden treasure, not talking about enough in the U.S. |

I have been to Roumania - for a short time, but have great memories of the people and the country. The people are nice and friendly, the difference to us Bulgarians is that they tend to talk more :). Nice big country with a lot of space and beautiful scenery, I especially liked the area around Brashov. The food is better in Bulgaria, but the people are more artistic in Roumania :). The music is great! Honest. |
