Nothing will change in Turkey. These seem funny to me. I just pity to worker, retired, poor and young people.
As in a song of Cem Karaca: 'Yerel ve genel seçim/seçin bakalım seçin/ki dön baba dönelim/aynı yere gelelim..'
PS to Undecided: You can listen it here: http://www.onlinemuzikdinle.net/Song_Page/ROCK/164/Cem-Karaca-Bindir-Bir-Alamete-Gideyoz-Kiyamete-sarkisini-dinle.html
I couldn't find the download link but I can send the song with e-mail with pleasure if you give your address :) |

Rightist governments have been cutting education budget and giving too much to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Why? Because an educated person wouldn't be so easily fooled. And an uneducated person would vote for RTE, when RTE has been feeding his own retinue with our money and continuously cutting from that same poor and uneducated masses.
Aziz Nesin got it right. |

AKP:As expected yet they will drop in time as all partys in Turkey
CHP:Under baykal it has turned in to a ussless party only staying alive becasue it was created by Atatürk
MHP:Full of Thugs and overly nationalist people and ruled by a incompetent fool (bahçeli)
DTP:As expected I do not belive aparty sould be created on the bases of race as they obviusly support kurdishness above all as Mhp supports turkishness above all
on a extra note
My vote was for LDP it didn't get far yet it did okay compare to before.
anyway the next party in power will be a new party |

After 22 July 2007 elections i was worried about Izmir and Cankaya by AKP's 47% but now its clear that they get stronger castles of CHP, even we take Antalya and Yenimahalle(Ankara) and some other cities back again. Also MHP got Balikesir, Manisa, etc. cities from AKP.
For Ankara Buyuksehir it was not an election; it was really an EASY IQ TEST but i.melih gokcek can still have 37%!!! What can i say???

The AKP has managed to curry the favor of other gov'ts by way of its economic agenda. If Turkey sees another economic crash a la 2001, their corruption will shine through and they'll lose power as happened to the gov't back then. What the AKP has lost has becomes MHP's gain, in that MHP's electorate is largely religious anyway--it's just that they see "Turkishness"--whatever that is--as being more important than being Muslim. http://is.gd/pGC3 |

One party is worse than the other ("al birini vur ötekine" as Turks would say). That's what I think about the outcome of the elections.
Please don't call today's CHP "Ataturk's party".
I'd wish that Turkey had a real liberal-democrat, a real conservative, a real social democrat and a real green party making politics in a good competition.
The 4 parties you mention are all too extremist for me and living abroad, I'm glad that I don't have to choose between them. |

Media is using this numbers as a big loss for AKP and a triumph for CHP and MHP, i am sure that these 2 parties made an agreement to support each other in the places they were more strong to get the victory, everything that could hurt AKP, but still it was not enough to make that party lose. What is clear to me is that inthe case of MHP people suffer something called shotage memory, they already forgot that when MHP was on power the country was under big crisis and anarchy..about CHP finally they understood that using the flag that AKP would bring shariat and Turkey will lose its secularism is just crap, now they did not do focus in this garbage and they got some points but still as someone say above CHP should not use the image of Ataturk because the ideology of Kemal Ataturk is far away of the actuall ideology of CHP unafortunatly, so it does not matter if they got 2 percentage more, CHP is not leftist party but the club of rich people who wants to see Turkey under their hands so that they can continue stealing money for free like Aydın Doğan is trying to do. He is angry at actuall goverment because he was caught of not paying taxes and now is controlling its media bussines and attacking AKP under the shadow of CHP, i am liberalist and i do not like AKP but really when i see CHP and MHP ideology i just feel sorry for Turkey. |

I guess this means a new Coalition government? AKP has the majority of the votes so Tayyip will be the Prime Minister again! Nothing will be changed. Never mind me, I know nothing about politics
Irmak, I like your comment and I would like to listen to that Cem Karaca song. Do you know where on the internet I can download it?
To Irmak: Cok tesekkur ederim. Sana e-mailimi gonderdim. xo |
