I am quite disturbed to hear Alex N. and his stupid comment!!! Я могу говорить небольшого русского, но я не глуп! I am not Russian but I did visit Russia. It is a beautiful country with a lot of history. No, it's nothing like USA or other European/African/Asian countries at all! People are different everywhere. Russians work hard and take great pride in their country. They have been through turbulent times compared to USA. The Russian federation has only existed since 1991. And now they have become a major world power again. No people are perfect, and neither us Americans either. But I met some nice and friendly Russians. At least they were nice to me. I am sure they have problems like anyone else. Most of them don't take life for granted from what I seen like us Americans. They are very rugged and persevering people and I respect that! I met a guy named Vladmir while on a train ride from St. Petersburg to Nikolaev, Ukraine. He was working their and was a soldier in the Soviet Union back in the 80's. He was just trying to scrap out a living now and back then. He loves his country. For the most part, Russians are people just like any other country and I like them!

Answering the person above, the English thinking they are the best, American thinking they rule the world , I bet French and German think the same...Russians are just very different from the European people as the half of the country is Asia and it's a mixture of Eastern and Asian cultures..I am Russian and deffinatly think we, Russians are the best and the worth at the same time..every person is different and Western people don't know much about Russia and our culture..

MM Well I have to say that they are a very intelligent and friendly people, sadly they are portrayed in the West by some Western Media in a Negative Light. Russia has some Beautiful city's and Countryside too.

Hard workers, strong, intelligent, good-looking, proud people. Some of the world's best athletes and scientists were Russian. We live in a beautiful country, we speak our own language and we have a unique culture and our own way of life. :)

there're ok, just like all the other people.
But sometimes some Russians think that their nation is the special one, they think that russian culture is the Best and they compare Russia and the rest of the world. And they prefer all Russian stuff and ignore anything from abroad, e/g/ consider Orthodox Christianity better than Catholicism. Or consider Russian food better than all the rest food in the world. That's really stupid. Yes, Russia is the biggest country in the world, but RussiANS are just 2% of all the mankind. Can 2% be better than 98%? I think, never, though they can be equal! I also don;t like Russians who speak only Russian and consider all non-russian speakers stupid.

Russians vary some are A$$ holes some R nice ur kind of labeling people here?. However I strongly disagree with Russia the country over many politics.
