Yes I love our army. It is truly made of "soldiers" not some murderous maniacs whom you see nowadays in many so called civilized countries armies. When I see "gazi"s on TV who lost a leg or an arm to defend his friend I envy those people for having such a noble soul. I wish with all my heart that I was as pure as they are. I watched a video on youtube the other day, Turkish soldiers were taking care of a wounded terrorist who was abandoned by his so called "friends" in a cave. I adore every single soldier serving the Turkish army and risking his/her life for the future of Turkish citizens.

We may not always support our governments, but as long as our military is brave and honorable, we should cherish and support the military as fellow citizens thrust by duty into an undesirable situation.

This is psychological operations. An army fails if it acts based on humanitarian values. An army's main aim is to defeat the enemy by any means. May it be a bullet or a flyer.

It's the Army who defends not only you...It defends 75 million people...

And yes, we are higly proud...

In History; no other country managed to preserve his territory and his honour against several foreign armies and traitors (UK,France,Australia,New Zealand,Italia,Russia, Armenians,Kurds,Arabian tribes,etc ) ,on several fronts, at the same time...
Only Turkey could do it...

If our soldiers didn't fight and sacrified their lives in Canakkale,Ege and Eastern Anatolia, we would all have other citizenships and maybe we wouldn't even have born...

That's why we all adore so much MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK...

Edit : DejaVu,come on, there is no need to be so upset. Of course it's the Army of everyone, because men in your family did their military service, and I did it too, and everyone did it.
About Edebiyat, well, I'm not exactly an expert, but yes it's true that in turkish litterature and turkish language ,some expressions such as
"Vatanim","Milletim","Bayragim" , "Ordum", "Mehmetçigim" , etc have a deeper and more beautiful meaning that in english language. In fact, it's sometimes difficult to translate the same symbolic strength and the same exalted poetry from turkish sentences into other languages
Well, let's say that this is a kind of misunderstanding or something...

Despite the technological and financial advantages of the US Army, Turkish Army is the greatest and the best fighting force in the world. No other army can match its skills and discipline.
I just wish they would stay out of politics a bit.

The Turkish Army Forces are doing a miracle by fighting an enemy without a distinctive uniform to be identified as " enemies" and they are still trying to solve the problem with peaceful manners. That alone is enough for me to be proud of them.

They are fighting with terrorists who look like regular citizens and it requires great intelligence and information abilities to distinguish who is who. They should be appreciated even only with these spects.

We are all proud of them, we worry about the young soldiers who are doing their national duties in one of the words harshest geographic territories under sub zero climates, risking their lives so that we can sleep peacefully.

I hope the danger and the damage of PKK gets understood by outsiders and they stop demonstrating their unbelievable ignorance and support us to solve the terrorism.

Dont be so proud of your army, look the past see what they did to the innocent Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians.

Gendarmes have taken more than two million innocent lifes. Men, women, elderly, children, unborn children, family, generation, a whole race. So dont you dare to call them "humanist". They are probably "humanist" now, but they were BARBARIANS.
