Been there several times..Budapest beautifully restored..Relatively cheap..little crime..many museums galleries etc. Uncrowded city..beware the taxi drivers..order from hotel or restaurant...Lake Balaton...like a small Riviera, blue shallow warm water..Eastern plains like walking back into time...Go..English spoken almost everywhere.Loved it, going again in OCT. |

Depends from where you are but...
If you would ever visit Budapest, go to the Jewish quarter. There are hidden bars there which are visited by local people. Just amazing
Hungarians are cool
Much more modern than the average European or the average American |

It is a country which is well worth seeing. There are soo many beautifull places to see and soo many things to do that I could go on for a day. Budapest is the most gorgeous city that i ever seen. lake Balaton is a must, Eger is good to visit, as well as Hajduszoboszlo. People can be arrogant at times, but you cannot generalize a nation by a few experiences. If ou plan to go there, you will not regret it |
