As for the high percentage, what do you expect when most of them were in one big city (Thessaloniki), and that was a well known fact at the time? (the city which was to be named "Mother of Israel" in the years to come). Germans knew where to search, and it was easy to find them.

Asking what happened to the Jews in Greece is like asking what happened to the Jews all over Europe.

Anyway, will try to explain you from the stories my grandmother told me when I was growing up: In our small town, a lot of her neighbors were Jewish. In WW2, when the Germans started gathering and expeling them to unknown destinations, a lot of her Jewish neighbors asked her to take their jewelry and cans of gold for safekeeping so they could have them back when the war was over (so they thought)
My grandmother, who had a lot of kids and little money, being afraid she'd be tempted to use them, refused to take their valuables.
She never saw any of her neighbors and never knew what happened to them.
Unfortunately humans can act worse than animals and history confirms this.A lot of Jews perished in Germany and the remaining immigrated to USA where they still control most of the country's wealth and politics

They are still there.(agree with Tolia)Opossite to what Aaron says ,Jews were protected from the Greeks.
A bright example is my hometown,Zakynthos,where i think is the only place that NOONE from the Jews lived there killed.

Oh, do you mean Balkan Wars and 1912, when Greeks got into Thessaloniki beating the Bulgarians?
Some Jews were expelled then, but imagine what happened to them some decades later.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU, GREEKS DON'T HAVE A BLOODY PAST. They weren't the most fearceful warriors nor the most savages as a neighbouring country wants to present them, but they have no evidence, isn't it?
