What is Denmark famous for?

Denmark is also known for its generosity with world aid. Despite being one of the smallest countries - a mere 5.5 million people in 2005 - it gives freely to nations in need.

And through their tax structure, which is inarguably one of the highest in the world (comparable to what Americans pay when they have no children and don't own homes), Denmark provides free emergency hospitalization and basic health care to all Danish citizens.

And (you gotta love this!), Danes can get a college education at no cost.

when the nazi's conquered denmark in ww2 they ordered all the jews starting tommorow to have a star of david sewn to their clothes.the next morning the king of denmark appeared in public, with a star of david sewn to the breast of his coat.many danes followed suit.i would say denmark is known for courage.

Hans Christian Andersen
The statue of the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen harbour
Their amazing cuisine

I am immensely impressed by the facts surrounding the Nazi invasion - Courage has to be added to the list.

I just moved here at there sure seems to be a lot of Hans Christian Anderson focus. Before I came I associated them with Pickled Herring and ...well that turned out to be total right and being really blond...yep that too. One of the coolest things though I think is Tivoli being the oldest amusement park. It is really cool. Copenhagen also has the longest pedestrian street, which I hate because it is so crowded you can hardly move.

Oh and how can I forget Soren Kirkegarde the father of existencialism.

I agree with the other though that it is famous for their resistance to the Nazi's final solution. King Christian rocks!
