What is Europe like in November? Where would you honeymoon? |
I'm getting married in November. I always wanted to spend my honeymoon in Europe but would it be really cold? What about in the south.. like italy? Where would you for a November honeymoon? Additional Details Let me add that I don't want to go to islands or meixco. We've been to those places a lot and I want to try somewhere different for our honeymoon. I'd really like somehwere in europe or east. |

November in Europe is usually pretty cold. We are talking about 50f (10c) weather and it could rain. But you can be lucky as well, and it could be warm. Even southern countries like Italy, Greece and Spain will likely be cool in November, so be prepared for that and bring warm clothes, no matter where you go.
But if you are getting married in November and want to come to Europe, I suggest to combine 2 or 3 places. So, for example you can spend a few days in Paris. If it is cold, you can visit some beautiful and warm places like The Louvre, Versailles, Picasso Museum.
Amsterdam is also very pretty and there are many nice indoor places (Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, etc).
Or go to Switzerland and enjoy a couple of days in the mountain village of Zermatt. Zermatt is really a ski resort, but many non-skiiers go there, because it is so pretty and is a small walking town. Cars are not allowed in Zermatt, so you can just walk around and enjoy this lovely village.
Then go to the Canary Islands. It is officially part of Spain, but geographically off the coast of africa. It is the only place in Europe where you can be sure it will be warm that time of year. We are talking around 70F (20c). There are several islands you can decide upon, like Teneriffe or Grand Canary. Which ever you choose, be sure to rent a car. Most of the beauty will be outside of the central touristy areas where you are likely to stay.
By combining 2 or 3 places in the Fall, you can make the best of it and enjoy a bit of European culture and still find some beautiful outdoor nature.
You will find a few links below. Have fun!! |

It's cold in November. It rains and it could even snow.
If you want a warm place, try Italy or Spain. But in Italy will rain, even if it won't be very cold.
I don't know about Spain, but being in South I think it would be warm. You should try December in Romania in the mountains, it's absolutely fabulous. Prepare for snow.(I think there might be some snow in November also) get worm cloths, have fun all day in the snow, then romantic evenings by the fireplace. (((Sigh...))) |

if you are visiting Europe in November for honeymoon, I would avoid Scandinavia. It is dark, rainy and cold, unless you want to spend your time in a spa or a nice hotel with open fireplaces.
In December, it's another story. The city is light up for Christmas and it is very nice atmosphere.
So, if I were you, I would go for southern Europe!
Happy honeymoon and enjoy! |

GOD...
It is just like in USA...in November, in the north, it's cold and dark...in the south, warm and beautiful...in the rest - the beginning of the winter...
Go to Italy, Spain or Greece, for example...winter is the ideal time to visit those countries, because it is less warm than in the summer... |

If you go tithe south is like in USA, like San Francisco, go to France, but not too long in a big city like Paris, is beautiful but you dint want to go to visit museums and tour Eiffel, you want to walk, the country side is beautiful, rent a car and go by small roads, ah is so romantic, Italy is nice but i prefer France to Italy, but the south of Europe is not that cold and it depends of where you live too. Congratulations............ |

howbout bermuda or somewhere tropical. its november and this part of hemisphere (west) is somewhat winter. the best time to go to europe would be during the summer and during that time you can take eurail and travel as many countries as you want. i think if you still wanna do it in november, go to somewhere tropical like hawaii, dominican republic, jamaica, malaysia, etc. have fun and all the best! |

November in Europe can be cold and windy. Why not go to the Canary Islands (belong to Spain). There the temperature is quite warm in November. Happy honeymoon wherever you go! |

Go to Paris, the country is bankrupt and you just might get a good deal. What ever you do, don't try and speak French it infuriates the natives. Speak with a Texas drawl, oh that might present a problem too. I wouldn't worry about the weather I'd worry about how as an American you will be received. It really depends on if Bush starts WW III like he wants too! I'd get married fast if I were you, there might not be a Europe, hell there might not be an election. |
