Is a very beautiful country. Amazing food, beautiful beaches, lovely mountains, rich story...
Is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe.

Yeah wine is a good one. "Green" Wine (vinho verde), Madeira, Port and Rose wine all come from Portugal. It's a massive industry there. Also corks! yes corks, portugal exports tons of it every year. textiles and ceramics. Glass making is massive too and beautiful to watch. Of course there's the imense costline dotted with lil secret beaches. Lisbon itself is amazing and beautiful, full of history.
Portugal is one of the oldest countries in the world, worth a visit any time :)

Get a Routard Tourist Guide or a DK guide.
There is not only beaches and wine. You might be interested in learning something about the museums and some literature. As well as some history.
Do you know that Portugal and England have the oldest aliance treatment in the world?
Do you know about the portuguese nobel prizes?
Nothing wrong with the landscape in portugal but there is far more then wine and beaches.

Port wine, Madeira and Vinho Verde. Textiles, ceramics, and certainly lots of other agricultural products. Cork. Great beaches, temperate weather.

try looking it up. You search "Portugal" You should find some good stuff that way.

The Portuguese discovered a good portion of the world, they were great explorers, but nowadays are very relaxed about it.

The Alfama district in Lisbon is known for a particular style of singing called 'fado', very nice, very passionate, and a lovely night out.

Seafood is good in Portugal, he should try it.

I spent a lovely week in Lisbon in 2007, very nice, friendly people, lovely food, lovely city .... I'd move there.
