Hi!

This is what I know of Russia. First thing that comes to mind is Vodka sorry....(i know Scandinavia is known for it as well) Good even the best caviar. The Russian ballet, Leo Tolstoy's Anna Kerenina, Your athletes are VERY good, Russia is the most expensive place to live in(according to a statistic this 2007, I forgot which one). You are proud people, in all sense... Troikas... what happened to the Tsar and his whole family is just heart breaking... The red square, St. Pettersburg, its very cold there.. beautiful people.. The myth about Tsarina Anastasia...

Mathematics and Communism.

Honestly, why - because US considers Russia as a threat for some strange reason for over 50 years now. This is the main reason.

Not true: we, Ukrainian have the most beautiful women, it's recognized even by Russians :)

Russia is known for many things - good and bad. Russia is and have always been more than just a country, Russia - is a self-sustained quasi-civilization or empire - whatever you prefer to call it. Russia is so huge that it's virtually unmanageable, it will probably collapse at some point and their Chinese "strategic partners" will, to a great extend, help that happen because to them, Russia's collapse will mean easy access to vast natural resources of Siberia.
