Many greeks don't actually eat breakfast, They usually get a cup of coffee, then pick up a cheese pie,or sandwiche on their way to work etc.But Greeks do cater for the holidaymakers,so if you come to Greece you can get an English breakfast,or basically whatever you fancy,

i enjoy watermelon and feta cheese

but apparently according to wiki

"Various kinds of pastry constitute the traditional Greek breakfast. Tyropita, spanakopita, and bougatsa (particularly in Northern Greece) are eaten, usually accompanied with Greek coffee.
Simpler breakfasts include honey, marmelade or nutella cream (as well a Greek variation thereof, Merenda) spread over slices of bread.
Children typically drink chocolate or plain milk."

Ask for any kind of homemade pie! Just delicious, but you have to insist on it being homemade!
Try Greek coffee, too, but not without sugar!

first of all it hink tony m should get a life and do something more than answering to every greek question
greece exist for thousands of years and comparing to other countries (yours) dont steal anything ,dont need to

usually greek drink a coffee and eat a cheesepie or spinachpie...
greeks dont give so much attention to breakfast mostly to dinner i would say..
but almost every single one will start his day with coffee...

Adults have a tea or coffee (often Greek coffee) and a cookie or better, three to four cigarettes. Children drink milk or tea and have a croissant. They usually have a snack at school later on or even lunch if it is a private school.
Greeks don't eat breakfast, but might have a snack around 11am in form of a cheese pie or koulouri (a round bread with sesame), and a few more coffees. :)

The Greek don´t usually eat breakfast. Lots of coffee will do (along with many cigarettes, the Greek smoke a lot, especially the men).

Lunch is more important, but the most important meal is the dinner, when all the family is present. Eating a Greek dinner is really enjoyable!

If you are staying at an ordinary hotel (not a 5 star hotel), you usually get coffee/tea, egg, toast and marmalade.

When we do have it's coffee, eggs, bread with butter/jam and such. But we usually have just a coffee.

There's a scene in Papadiamantis' Η Φόνισσα (The Murderess) where the man of the house upon waking up has a small glass of raki. That book was written around 1880. Justin is right; they still have that habit in Crete and some other places, esp. the islands (a place I frequented at Kalymnos served, as breakfast, fried anchovies with vinegar and a big glass of resinated white wine (retsina) for a very small price).

a greek breakfast usually has things like:
any kind of pie
eggs,or omeleta
milk or coffee or both
jam
honey

-YANS-
Traditionally, breakfast is not a big affair. Often people will enjoy a Greek coffee or these days a frappé paired with a hard roll or with loukamades (fried doughnut holes drizzled with honey)- they are very good!!

also feta cheese, and olives, tomatoes on a thick piece of toast! mmm...
