an EXPATRIATE is someone who has left their country of origin. I am a South African expatriate who's come over to uk to teach since 2001.
YOu can be an english or american or japanese expat...

Chiprat
Expat is short for ex-patriot, this is a person living in another country.
For example an American expat would be a guy born and raised in Texas now working and living in London England.

Avalon

Expatriate - A person living in a country that is not the one they were born in.

violet
As "andie" said - a citizen of one country living in another country. When the government sends us to another country for several years for work purposes due to our job - we become "xpats" for that period of time until we return back to our country.

Hi Marcus, xpat is short for expatriate, that's to say someone who's living outside their native country, such as a British person residing in Spain.

andie

It's for people who were previously named Pat, but due to the name being rather silly, have since changed it.
Ex- Northern Ireland goalkeeper Pat Jennings is now called Winstone Jennings. He started the group.

Fukcing grow up you sad tw@ts. I suppose you all though it would be a good idea to repeat the correct answer. Fukcing sheep.

90210 aka Hummer Lover
women who used to be called PAT but since changed their name due to the annoying character in Eastenders: Pat Butcher.
