It's way different than in america, I come from one of the European countries, i came 4 years ago to US and the atmosphere, and american mentality is way different. And Europe has really nice places.
(Alps, Paris, Bavaria etc.) It's worth going to Europe:)

Gabby
Go to Finland, Switzerland and Germany.
I lived in Finland for 4 and a half years. It is awesome!! It's a little cold but it is a lovely country. The nature is amazing.

Germany has a lot of history and the cities are just amazing.

Switzerland has a bit of everything, beautiful cities and awesome nature.

All three have AMAZING food. =D

Of course it's different, but you will get used to it. I lived in Germany when my Dad was in the Army and it ws fun. I lived in a small town in the German Community although I went to the American School on base.

German people seem to be not as friendly as American, but it's not really true. It's just not in their culture to talk to strangers. They may even be seated at the same dinner table as you in a restaurant and not speak.

Well, it is alot more sencible I could say, much less arogant. My sister is moving there. She prefers Europe than America. There is also alot of exercize and biking. Many people there though do not like Americans because they are known to be ignorant. So don't tell them. The people are nice, and treat you kindly. There is a higher saftey too. And there is little crime. At restruant when you give them a credit card, sometimes they swipe it in front of you to prevent identity theft. There economy seems to be better off too. Also, they have GREAT FOOD!!!! And their currency is higher than the US doller.

Hopes this helps!!! :)

I am also an American that grew up in a small Calif. town but now lives part-time in Europe.
I was very fortunate to meet my Hungarian husband at a young age. I was attracted to his many differences. We have now been together for more then 35 years.
We bought a flat in Budapest and are looking forward to retiring there very soon.
I feel so alive in Europe, a feeling I have only had in the states while living in NY.
I can't wait to go outside everyday and be out and about with the masses.
The language issue is sort of difficult but if you are young, most people under age 30 speak English. I am older so I have a harder time making friends.
They love Irish dancing in Hungary believe it or not. There are also many ex-pat Irish in Hungary.
Jobs are a major down side in Hungary. Their economy has always been tight and people don't expect that much out of working.
They do love the arts so with your background, you may find something anyways.
You only have one life that we know of so I would say for you to travel and see how it goes for you.

I think people who aren't originally from europe are the best to ask cause they have something to compare on. Well, it depends on where one is originally from and what one is used to. In my opinion europe is kinda historical or old fashioned to some. I would say if one is after security and high standard of living then scandinavia would be the best. I can't say anything about other countries.

Hard at the moment. The Irish Economy is in a terrible place right now. But when it picks up you should come here, I love it.

I don´t know whether you can get work as an Irish dancer...I doubt it's a terribly big thing there, but, you may know better! :)

Work, in general is EXTREMELY tight right now. The entire WORLD is in a major recession, and finding work as a foreigner...from what I have heard, is REALLY hard! Your languages WILL come in handy.

Best advice...try to have work lined up BEFORE you leave. Find a good international agency. Au Pair work, if you like being with children, is a REALLY good option...even in a poor economy, many people like to have foreigners nanny their kids...language and culture exposure, you know.

Hate to discourage, but it looks as if working for a couple of years, riding out this economy might be the best route for most people, then try to do it later...or get into teaching and do the Fulbright thing or something along those lines...exchange as a teacher.

Yes, the pace, living situations, work situations, all different there, and different from one country to another, one region to another, even one city to another...but in general, things are slower, healthier (food is better-fresher and less treated).

If you can work it out, enjoy!

Film and music? Yeah, this is what Europe needs now, hahahaha. If you want to go into film or music, go to Hollywood. Europe needs scientists.

UNITE OR DIE!
i want to go there as fast as possible. man, this place is so screwed up. they really don't have a clue, either the congress or the white house.

this house of cards is still caving in. time to bail, they are out of control. hard to believe anybody could have made so many bad decisions and wasted so much along with enrich the crooks on wall street, houston oil and the u.s. congress.

they still are denying their mistakes and ripoffs. freddie mac and fannie mae are the heart of this disaster. if they had bombed nyc with a nuke it would have been no worse. run for your life if you can buy a ticket to ride. maybe be your last chance to escape whatever is just around the corner.

TOUGH , you gotta deal with tourists and you can't really own a car in some areas (by that i mean it's better to own a moped) the reason it sounds so fun is because you're getting tired of the seeing the same **** everyday and that's why you should only go to europe on vacation

also you need to speak the language of the place you want to live in im quebecois and speak fluent french and english i went to paris and the dialect of french is so different and the have different words for the same things so trust me if you really want to move there don't do it blind
