The flag of Serbia is the Pan-Slavic tricolor, in this order: red, blue and white. It is often only the order of the colours that distinguishes them one from the other. Just to add that Pan-Slavic colours show common roots and mean:
red - bloody past; blue - clouded present and white - bright future.
We also have a coat of arms - a double-headed white eagle with a royal crown above its heads. The most significant part is the shield on its breast: ocila (firesteel) or the four C - shaped elements. The meaning and use of this symbol dates back to the XIIIth century and the life of St. Sava, a Serbian prince, monk, and a patron of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In this period of Serbian medieval history, the state was pressured by the Vatican to convert into Catholicism. But St. Sava called for establishment of Serbian independent Archiepiscopate, and as well called on all Serbs to unite against the pressure from the Vatican.
His motto was 'Only Unity Saves the Serbs', in Serbian: 'Samo Sloga Srbina Spasava'. Every word in that sentence begins with the letter S; in Cyrillic alphabet letter S is С, and there comes the explanation why there are four Cs in our coat of arms.
The Serbian coat of arms represents a reminder for a need for Serbian people to unite with the cause to preserve their heritage and nationhood which had been threatened so many times in history.
For every Serb worldwide, the white double-headed eagle with the four Cs is the symbol of freedom, independence and unity.

Vasiliki - you forgot to mention (Greek flag)
The cross is for Greek Orthodox
and
the nine stripes represent the nine syllables of the phrase "Ελευθερία ή Θάνατος" ("Freedom or Death", " E-lef-the-ri-a i Tha-na-tos"), the five blue stripes for the syllables "Έλευθερία" and the four white stripes "ή Θάνατος".
The Union Jack
My flag - red/white/blue - consists of three flags
St George's, St Andrew and St Patrick's (Northern Ireland) placed on top of each other - Union Jack |

Although our flag is the continuation of a tradition (it existed before the republic), we are told that the colour red symbolizes the blood our people shed for independence from imperialism and monarchy.
The moon is connected to our Turkic roots, but I don't know the symbolisation behind it. |

The Turkish flag's color is the red, which is for the blood of innocence people who they kill during these years (Armenians,Greeks)... |

I'm Turkish. Red blood on our flag symbolizes the blood we shed for protecting every inch of this magnificient country, whatever the circumstances or odds against us may be. "The strength you need is in the noble blood that flows through your veins" as Atatürk said.
The crescent, though today associated with Islam too, was used in Central Asia by our distant but equally noble ancestors. You can see this Göktürk (or Köktürk as they called themselves in ancient Turkish) coin, it has a crescent and a star: http://img28.picoodle.com/img/img28/8/7/4/bora/f_6fr2wc1m_dcb14c5.gif Also the flag of East Turkestan, which is very far away from Turkey, in China, has a moon and a star on blue background.

Our original flag was the 16 pointed sun of Kutleš (Aegaen Macedonia), symbol of the ancient Macedonian dynasty!
But today's flag of the Republic of Macedonia represents a golden sun on a red surface. Gold and red are the characteristic colors of the Macedonian state.
Greetings from Macedonia |
