Rhodes Its really nice there and i feel like moving there. |

OK, I'm Greek and I've spent all of my summers on some island so I know this subject. First of all, early June is a very good time to visit. It's warm (although the water might be a little chilly if you're used to Florida or something) but it's not high season yet, so no hordes of tourists. It's a good time for going to places that would be packed in a few weeks. So, if you want to go the 'it' islands, like Myconos or Santorini, you shouldn't steer away. They 'll be pretty much OK and they're worth visiting anyway.
However, if you want a quiet island then take any of these picks:
Serifos, Patmos, Milos, Amorgos, Folegandros, Anafi, Schinoussa, Donoussa, Antiparos, Symi.
And many more. These are just my pick. They are beautiful islands, with beaches and (apart from Patmos which is packed in August) they're never too crowded. |

Lesbos (not a joke, it's right of the coast of Turkey and really nice. I've been there) |

all of the islands have their own 'beauty'
like everyone said, it depends on what you want.
some islands that i liked, and were relatively quiet were:
paros
aegina
poros
santorini (if you go early enough)
rhodes (if you go early enough-like in May)
kos (if you go early)
kastelorizo :) (ok--its DEAD there. during the summer it picks up a little, but its a very picturesque island)
i also hear that naxos is pretty nice, but ive never been there...yet. |

Early June will be quiet in most islands, so you can even go to myconos or Santorini then. Or Paros. But my personal favorite is Sifnos. |

Try Thassos it's the smallest Greek Island north of mainland Greece. It's unspoilt beautiful place, lovely and quiet. A great chill out stress free holiday, you will love it |

Didn;t you know Americans CANNOT read. They have no reading comprehension.
You wrote "quiet" holiday and that leaves out all mentioned so far (Santorini? Rhodos? Are they kidding).
If you want a quiet and relaxing place without much tourism just visit places such as Kalymnos, Karpathos, etc.
Anyway, it is easy to get from one Island to another by boat if you decide in a different experience. |

I must go along with cpinatsi, above. June is not a very busy month and a great time of the year to travel to Greece.
Sifnos is one of my favorites as well. If you find yourself there do not miss Kastro.
Keep in mind that Greece has over 3000 islands, some 185 or so inhabited, and everyone has their own preferences. |

you should prefer a small cyclades island...
santorini, rhodos, mykonos.are busy allways and expansiv
try "amorgos" or :iraklia in small cyclades"
they are wonderfull at early june, quiet and cheaper. |

Symi!! Symi is perfect in May and June. Before it gets too hot, before the festivals and before it starts to get packed with tourists and daytrippers. We are a small island with a normal population of about 3500 but this balloons with tourists, and people that live here only in 'the season'. But it is so beautiful here, I guarentee that first time you see the facades of the buildings in the sunlight from the ferry coming in, you'll fall in love. I did!
And you can check out Rhodes on the way which is a must visit! Because you have to fly into Rhodes to get to Symi. :) |

Every body has different opinions, and my opinion is Argassi on the beautiful island of Zante. It is not a very big place but it is lovely and quiet, and of all the Greek islands I have visited the food was the best. |

Try lesbos. We did and we loved it. When we were there the departure lounge was on the beach, hows that for being laid back.Probobly changed it now though. Have a good time wherever you go. |

ZANTE (ZAKYNTHOS). Its the best place in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... EASILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
|

♥AngeliC spirit♥
 |
i would suggest you Zakynthos,i have been there and i really enjoyed my hoildays there!
Some places you can visit:)
Porto Banana (sandy), Porto Vromi (sandy), Makrys Gialos (rocks and caves, that you can swim in), Gherakas (sandy), Dafne (sandy), Limnionas (sand and rocks).
Take a boat and go to Marathonissi. It' s the turtle island, but you will not see any turtles, because they can't take the light and they always come out at night! Go to see the beach and swim, where the shipwreck happened. The water is perfect there.
Other things to do: Listen to kantades (traditional songs) at the taverna (restaurant) "Arekia" in the city of Zakynthos. Not to lose, even though you will not understand the lyrics. You will find it. Everybody knows it. If you go swimming at Makrys Gialos, go to eat at Spyro's tavern. I guarantee!!!
Visit the church of Santa Mavra, because it's one of the very few buildings left as it was before the 1953 earthquakes.
If you have a car, I advise you to go everywhere but Laganas. North, South, West and East.
Very beautiful are the villages of Vassilikos, Katastari, Maxerado, Kiliomeno. You could try: ladotiti, which is a kind of cheese, they produce and honey.
For night life prefer Argasi. It's an area with many clubs and bars, that Greeks attend. Don't go to Laganas. It's like the worst part of America. Only some bars, which are situated on the beach are really good.
If you hear something about "varkarolles", try to go. It' s serenades that happen in a boat in the sea under the moonlight.
You also have to visit Bohali and the hill of Stranis, very close to the city. Our national poet Dionisios Solomos wrote the national anthem there. If you go to Bohali, sit at "Lattas" for coffee and sweet, and especially "frigania". It's a traditional sweet and they make it very good.~ |

Agina Marina= fly to Athens- get the boat from Pyrias (it does 8 Islands) To Agina. Then either get the bus which takes about half an hour or go by taxi about 20mins or get a local to give you a lift.(this is more likely to happen) You will find a lovely village with a few tavernas and a beach that you can walk for miles on. The water is so shallow you walk out about 300 hundred yards before it gets to your knees. |

I cant get Rhodes out of my mind! |

Mykonos - it is small enough to have a real natural beauty that alot of the bigger islands have lost in commercialism. It has good connections to the other islands if you fancy a day trip (especially to delos - one of the most important archelogical sites in Greece!) The eating there is varied so you can always find great local cuisine in amongst haute culture and designer boutiques.
I have travelled the world and for me there is nowhere quite as bewitching as Mykonos - try it once and you'll be hooked I promise. |
